Cops, great, obviously even bigger morons.
The security was just standing nearby with :wot: faces. Lesser idiot models, it seems.

Perhaps he behaved stupidly, but the police was inappropriately agressive with the electro shock guns. These toys should be banned or at least seriously revised.
That student case is nothing in comparison with this tragedy :

And all he had to do is take 3 weeks to learn a little bit of english.:nono:

I haven't heard about that. Which one?

Here's an insight for all you non-Americans: You see all the lazy, gutless FUCKS sitting around watching the scene like some kind of reality tv show? They're the reason we don't deserve the Constitution anymore. They should have collectively bitch slapped those cops and STARTED a riot.
I think (hope?) you're missing the bulk of the story, fett. The audience was pretty much rooting for the guy to get his face stomped in by that point, he'd been such an asshole; cutting in line, talking past the deadline, refusing to shut up long enough to let his questions be answered, and so on and so forth.
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to hijack a forum by force.

Pyrian hit it on the head, I was surprised it took so long as compared to the other thread. This was a stunt from start to finish. He knew that Campus police would act as they were trained. They were cleared of any wrongdoing by the way.
Andrew Meyer is a tool, and he orchestrates this shit all of the time.
catbarf on 30/11/2007 at 22:15
Whether it was a stunt or not- how does that affect it?
Sure, he was being an asshole. But since when is that an offense punishable by getting tased while already on the ground, before being hauled off?
It doesn't matter one bit what he did. That was gross misuse of force on the part of the security. Even if he did it deliberately, that doesn't excuse the actions of the security officers.
Is it logical to expect that someone who is purposely being slow in a cafeteria line be immediately hurled to the floor and tased? Oh, he did it on purpose, and everyone is mad at him, so it MUST be fair to tase him! Yeah!
Aw, I'm touched ;)
Pyrian on 1/12/2007 at 00:03
Gross misuse of force? He created a disturbance, forced himself to be removed, and then resisted being removed. The taser was used specifically to be the minimum amount of force required.
Mercurius on 1/12/2007 at 01:19
Minimum amount of force? Are you fucking kidding me? Then what was the maximum, shooting the guy? There were several people on him, they could have just dragged his skinny white ass out. Taser should not have been used until he presented a reasonable threat to the wellbeing of others. Writhing around like a beached jellyfish is not a show of hostile intent.
Someone being an obnoxious showboating prick is not sufficient reason to apply excrutiating pain to them via taser. Maybe watching people get their nuts abused in every episode of America's Funniest Home Videos has desensitized the ignorant masses to the sight of their fellow human beings in agony.

He was on the floor, surrounded by a whole group of security officers who had him pinned, and THEN they tased him. 1- Why was the tasing necessary at that point? 2- Even if he was running around, police and security personnel alike are trained to use pepper spray and batons. Being tased is like being shot, save that they can escape all responsibility if you die from a tasing.
heretic on 1/12/2007 at 02:19
If you honestly think you would rather be beaten by batons or cap-stunned than tased, than you probably have experienced none of them.
Edit: Part of the requirement of officers being 'Taser certified' is them actually being tased. This certification is required before they can use the Taser. Look up statistics on Taser deaths, they are virtually non-existant without extenuating circumstance. A hell of a lot safer than being beaten by batons for example.
