So...Anyone see the Florida student that got tazered? I am not sure who I would side with on that one. Crazy student or freedom fighter?

Perhaps he behaved stupidly, but the police was inappropriately agressive with the electro shock guns. These toys should be banned or at least seriously revised.
That student case is nothing in comparison with this tragedy :

I've been lurking too long. Time for comment -
That was sickening. I looked up the video on youtube, would love to see more of it, but it seems the police were trying to arrest him while making a speech and expressing an opinion. I'm no American, but isn't that something you hold in rather high regard? Is this the freedom-sapping anti terror laws coming into effect over there? Iciting terrorist action or something like that? To me it seems absolutely terrible that everyone just sat there.:weird:
Interested to hear everyone elses opinions though...

I've seen enough of these videos now to conclude that the police are starting to use them as persuasion when they just can't get their way. The only difference between this and threatening to beat you with a batton is the visible damage that the batton would leave.

Those crapped security assholes obviously welcomed a change from their boring routine and excellent opportunity to deliver two electro shots to an unarmed person who was nervous because he was new to airports and everybody competent ignored him. (Yes, he speaks "RUSSIAN".)

It's really scary that they wouldn't tell him why he was being arrested until later (inciting a riot? Give me a fucking break).
Here's an insight for all you non-Americans: You see all the lazy, gutless FUCKS sitting around watching the scene like some kind of reality tv show? They're the reason we don't deserve the Constitution anymore. They should have collectively bitch slapped those cops and STARTED a riot.
Also, this story is curiously absent from all the major news sites. I found a few stories on Anna Nicole Smith though!:thumb:

Hey, I know that as a proper law-obeying citizen I shouldn't get in way of the officers if I don't want to risk a shot too. I have problem with idiots who enforce "security". They can be dumbasses, everywhere. That's why there are so many jokes targeting policemen's intelligence.

That was not security. That was the RCMP. The sin of security, is their failure to do anything to help him for 10 hours. Otherwise, security in Canada typically consists of burly guys too busy NOT doing anything useful. The "Don't taze me bro" scene could never happen at my campus... Firstly, because it would take them 20 minutes to get to the scene of the disturbance, and secondly, because they would just stand there and look intimidating. At least, that's what they do to people who keep stealing shit (They just walk away, and security doesn't give chase).
Holy shit, we can't (be bothered to) find another guy who speaks Polish in a goddamn airport? CALL THE COPS.
That is I believe the first of three tazer deaths by the RCMP in the span of week. It's probably absent from American press because you guys aren't concerned about tazering bed-ridden epileptics, let alone what we do up here.
In the Canadian press, OTOH, just about everyone, including our crackpot right-wing papers condemn the RCMP, and one of the Maritime provinces has issued a moratorium on tazer use after a death there.
Part of the problem is that tazers are not non-lethal weapons. The other part of the problem, is that that there are too many fucking kids playing cops and robbers who, instead of proper restraint and escalation, use them as a first step.

Actually it was intended to catch thieves. That is, generally speaking, something that the police are supposed to be up to.
I'm under the impression that usually, people who aren't resisting, don't die from baton beatings in "free" countries.
