i'm wondering about the following. we play alex denton (assumed) and we're also playing with the dark ages ending with the destruction of area 51 (assumed). so wouldn't the alex denton body have been destroyed in the explosion?

They keep saying that they're "doing something interesting" with regards to the multiple endings.
This suggests to me that they won't do something silly like assuming that everyone picked the Dark Ages ending.

we're not playing alex, anyway. dintcha know that?
we're gonna play some unknown character, who, his turn, knows jc and alex and the gang. this way, we've somehow got the feeling of continuity, but we can still devélop our own character.

Looking forward to seeing how they'll fit in all three endings. If they were going to base it on one ending my guess would be the one with the longest cut-scene - the one where JC and Morgan Everett essentially replace Simons and Page.
My guess is that the player will not know how the first game ended. That's something to be discovered as the game is played and the player's choices may determine what he discovers about what happened. The new dark age ending is the hardest to reconcile, perhaps rebuilding the global network and a new Helios went far quicker than Tong imagined. Why not? X-51 and Everett have the know-how, a prototype, and a UC.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Simons and Page make comebacks. They had clones in the tanks too.
