An article at (
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=25912) Gamasutra says that Warren Spector 'actually approached Disney not to tackle a Mickey Mouse project, but to find a publisher for a spiritual heir to his renowned Deus Ex' and that he may work on a 'spiritual successor'.

Interesting news. Some decent streamlining might really bring the Deus Ex experience to a wider audience. ;)

Yeah, it was a lack of accessibility that totally crippled the first Deus Ex. The game was like a big brick wall made entirely of how unpopular it was because of how streamlined it wasn't.

Oh man, I can't believe I've managed to miss a bit of info like this for like... a day.
Anyway, so much for the "tired of making games about guys in black leather holding guns". And thank God for that. In fact, I like the idea of a game like Deus Ex, but with an altogether different setting, more than yet another game with Dentons in it. But hopefully still cyberpunk. The notable shift in setting with DX3, promising to sort of bridge the gap between today and DX's 2050s, was one of the things that really got me excited about that one.

Great Photoshop work by RPS, there. I think I might be able to guess exactly what the tolerance of the magic wand is.
