I think the hardest thing in CGI is animation, and I can't see it

'300' is the adaptation of frank miller's graphic novel about the battle of thermopylae. the movie is being filmed in the same way 'sin city' was [l think by the same team] and with the same goal as sin city, i.e., to recreate the look of the comic book as exactly as possible.

Still looks fake, I hate CGI and I wish they would go back to puppets. At least puppets looked real.

you realize that the people are in fact real, yes? All the visual trickery is lighting and backgrounds in post and shooting with zoom lenses to compress the depth of field.
And it's not being done by the same people as Sin City.
ataricom on 24/4/2006 at 05:05
So, these are actually real people...meaning the background is all composite?
I have to admit, I've never seen Sin City. I'd like to though.

Looks faggeriffic.

Sin City is perhaps the best, most faithful adaptation of comic book to screen I've ever seen. There's no question that Miller's extreme opposition to translation provided the impetus for such an incredibly conscientious movie.
Sadly, those shots of 300 look like gay. Wag-a-cock-in-your-face gay, not "well-groomed but otherwise conservative fellow" gay. We're talking hysterical hispanics on a float during gay pride parade gay. Short shorts and all.

well, they are spartans, after all. :cheeky:
but, yes, it is clearly in the running to be the next emblematic gay pride movie, to be shown at loft parties on the anniversary of the stonewall riots. they should at least be wearing armor. they were pederasts, not retards.
