That's space-age? They're using hand-sets!

I guess they have the money to spend on nice office spaces. With all those PCs getting Symantec stuff pre-installed on them. :p

Better a cockpit than a cubicle row, I think.
Oh dear god no. I'd rather be working out of an outhouse with a laptop than that staggeringly open and sterile nightmare.
I'm honestly not sure I could get any work done without some semblance of privacy.

It's like some sort of dystopian dentist's office. I'd still probably prefer it to a cubicle though, at least initially.

I've worked in a cubicle for nearly 4 years and I don't see why it gets such a bad rap. It's quiet and private enough to get something done without being distracted by everything but open and communal enough to make for easy and casual collaboration with fellow coworkers.
I tried the whole "everybody with their own office" thing for a few months and it was creepy. All the doors were always closed and everything was too quiet; I felt like I was interrupting a church service everytime I wanted to ask somebody something.
Having said that I could see why those half-height cubicals would be hell as you don't get any of the privacy or sound insulation.

I've got a corner office and I like it. No one can see how much I procrastinate and surf the web. :D

I didn't say that. I'm reporting this post.

What do you do for a living, Scots (other than surfing the web)? ;)
