Convict, if schools aren't supposed to teach children
'progressive' values or bombard them with progressive opinions, then what the hell is the purpose of the school system? Would you rather it be a circle-jerk, with everyone sitting in the past, rather then considering the possibility that the past/present was/is wrong?
Yes, because that's what they mean when they say "progressive".
In case you weren't aware, conservatives spend quite a lot of time talking about how "the past/present was/is wrong."

I don't know what other conservatives preach when they get on the podium, but I do know what Convict would, and frankly, its reek of intolerance scares me. Just like it would scare me if schools had student saluting the aformentioned hammer and sickle, and blabbing on about the virtues of collective labour and sending political prisoners to gulags.

Which are of course the prime characteristics of far-left socialism.

So you get your view of what the political ideologies are from internet people? Nice.

Yes, because that was what Convict was arguing for.

Just to clarify, I would like to see no political indoctrination in schools.

Just to clarify, if that's the way you are putting it, then I haven't seen it in my schools, which you've still quite skillfully painted with the LIBERAL BIAS EVIL EVIL brush.
Most of my teachers held left-leaning views. Shocking. Did they preach them? No. Some of them held mostly conservative opinions. Did they preach them? No.

Wait a minute Swiss, I said "Australian public education" system (including schools and universities).
Secondly what you think your teachers did means diddly squat. Anecdotal evidence means diddly squat. Yes diddly squat.
Don't try and flatter me by saying that I skillfully painted it with liberal bias - here is what Ms Byrne said:
Quote:
"The conservatives have a lot of work to do to undo the progressive curriculum," said Ms Byrne, president of the 160,000-strong Australian Education Union.

Clearly, you were in a mentally deranged state when you were waving the LIBERAL BIAS bat in the fossil fuel thread on BCG. Duly noted as a temporary onset of clinical insanity.

Ah, yes. Despite the fact that I have brought up an example where your claims are not exactly accurate, it is
clear that schools around the civilised world have an evil liberal bias.

To clear up any misconceptions here, whenever I talk about 'you', I shall henceforth adress whatever figure/opinion/SMH article you are acting as a mouthpiece for. I'm sorry, it's a little hard to tell when you are doing something besides what I've just mentioned. It all gets a bit confusing. Do remind me.
And if he needs some hints, tell your, I mean, his, pals that I think he should start with 9:00 prayer, the ten commandments, and replacing the school curriculum with the study of the Holy Book. Or, alternatively, if that'll be too much work, he can instill whatever counterpart to Raeganomics, abstinance-only programs, and the like, that your local lexicon contains.
