His point was that the students could not have critical thinking skills and a sense of humanity BECAUSE they voted for John Howard*.
* In the last Federal (whole country) election 49 per cent of men aged 18-24 voted for Howard (of the right wing party), compared with only 28 per cent who voted Labor (left wing party). This is what probably stung the most.

While most everyone on this forum is dead set against what nickolae said, he is not alone in his convictions. Many people share his beliefs, they just aren't members here.

I think you miss the point. Very rarely are people around here dead set against what other people around here believe... We just have an expectation of cogent, consistent, reasoned opinions that have some basis in fact (unless the discussion centers around hypotheticals)
