getting my ass handed to me? I doubt it. I'm not the one trying to pass off my arguments as simplistic. If they are so simplistic, then simply bash them to pieces. It couldn't take more than a sentence if its so easy.
I'm not even getting an "agree to disagree", just pushing me aside cause I ruffle his feathers a little, thats so lame. Narrowminded even.
First of all, you really have to take a look around at that glass house you is living in, because you ain't in no position to be talking about "narrowminded." And second of all, don't give yourself credit for having "ruffled my feathers," I'm simply trying to give you a little bit of self awareness so that you don't continue to make a fool of yourself in the future.
But more importantly, it
is that easy. I already did. ;)
Let me simplify it a little bit, because you seem to continue to operate under the misguided notion that your argument is worthy of discussion.
Hint: You ain't offering 'arguments,' you're really just offering an opinion.
Your opinion I disagree with, and really don't give a shit about trying to change your mind. It's duly noted, and, quite frankly, we don't give a flying fuck.
Your
arguments, however, don't amount to anything more than a weak, after-the-fact rationalization for your opinion. We've heard them all already, and simply by the way you frame the issue, one can tell that you're glossing over and ignoring the competing interests involved, and plainly don't understand the nature of 'rights' to boot.
So essentially, what I'm saying is this, "Thanks for sharing, but don't delude yourself into thinking you've actually made a point."
Run along.
nickolae on 10/3/2006 at 00:01
You just keep saying "I'm wrong, I'm an ass, I'm stupid" but you have yet to say anything besides that.
Enlighten me on these "competeing interests" and the "notion of rights" since I don't grasp them. I'm not being facetious, I honestly want to hear what you have to say.
(sorry Dia, I'm straight now)
Rug Burn Junky on 10/3/2006 at 00:10
You gave up the right to beg for enlightenment from me when you marched into this thread like a tard and started pretending that your opinion was a logical argument. So you're going to have to do the work of figuring it out by yourself. The fact that you don't even realize that I have said more than just "you're stupid," and in fact, more substantively than any of your posts, doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that you'll be able to figure it out.
But since I'm in a generous mood, I'll give you an idea to get started where you may need the help:
The nature of rights is that they are to protect ALL citizens, not just the majority. That's just basic. Follow the bouncing ball, and you'll see why all of those stats you started with amount to jackshit. It doesn't matter how few are affected, so long as there are any who are.
As for the competing interests, if you're so ignorant that you can't figure that out yourself, then me repeating it one more time probably ain't going to help you.
Hopefully, in a couple of years, you'll realize what you're getting wrong now.
No need to come back and thank me.

Yeah, our teachers make us salute the hammer and sickle every morning, and sing hymns of worker solidarity.
Get a grip, muppet.
However, when someone refuses to say the pledge of allegiance...
On the subject...
nickolae,
Your argument is based on a weak frame of statistics and notions. RBJ refuses to converse with you because of this. When you say things like "So 91.8% of women choose an abortion out of convenience",
mention that "The harder you look you also see that only about 0-2.2% of Incest and Rape victims get pregnant and only 1% of those victims have an abortion.",
and assume that "the agenda is for women to kill the life of a child (or potential child what have you) out of convenience is pretty blatant.", people tend to be pretty disgusted with you. I'll let you figure out why.
I wouldn't bother pursuing your stance as people are, as RBJ said, "tired of this shit" and won't bother to respond much anyway.

On a side issue, the teachers in Australia (I don't know about other countries) are on the whole liberal left wing and try to indoctrinate their students.
I think that the issue of abortion is still at the position StD left it on page 2? in that pro-lifers say that a person begins when a homo sapiens begins whereas pro-choicers say that a person begins when [certain condition, e.g. a certain level of brain activity or when born].

Totally the same here.
Maths was all "if you have 1 happy worker and he is being oppressed by a fat capitalist, how many days will it take until the glorious soviet revolution?"
In
woodwork we were instructed to re-create tiny little tank parade dioramas. If we refused, we were whipped.
Religious Studies was taught by a mime artist so we'd realise how stupid it was.
French was .. well, we learnt FRENCH - man, what more do you need here?
During
English Lit we could only study works by some filthy immigrant called Karl who wasn't even BORN here. What the fuck?
History was obviously worst and we learnt nothing at all about the lying Jewish Liberal Media who keep the white man down. Instead it was some shit about Ancient Egypt, or something. Is that helping us expose the socialist lie of nationalised healthcare? I don't think so!
In
P.E. we were trained to fight the bourgeoisie, which was pretty weird because I thought that was me.
I can't remember any other lessons because the conservative part of my brain was erased with special
mind-rubbers.

So your saying I'm stupid. Too stupid to figure this out. SO stupid that I don't even merit an explanation even though I've asked for one. How is this fair? It's not that I bring up an issue and a point of view and am burned at the stake for it. What is up?
I just really don't get the point of this thread anymore, it's de-volved into a flame throw. G-Man please end this.

Oh FFS nickolae. If by not getting the point you mean "why aren't I getting agreement" then stop talking long enough to listen. And in case you hadn't noticed, the best way to end this is for you to stop posting replies.
Before you arrived there were 15 pages of discussion in which every significant and insignificant opinion / argument which you (and everybody else) made has been covered, exhumed, reanimated, offered indignities, eulogised and reinterred dozens of times. And guess what - nobody moved significantly from their initial position!
Read what is already there before you add more of the same. And what you have to say really is just more of the same, whatever shade it is. You are not being persecuted, you are being educated.
