Fyi: Ask nicely, and please wait more than ten minutes before screaming. Not everyone is capable of helping as we have not all done this quest, so it may take a while for someone to help you. And yes. Please search the forums atleast once if you have a question.

Drig, if you ever come across a quest that isn't, "Go here, talk to this person, then kill this mob. I'll even mark everything on your map in case you're an impatient dumbass." you may want to avoid it. You lack the patience and detective work to do anything above it.
However, in my infinite mercy, I will show you a link to a thread with the words "stolen painting" in it. Perhaps it's about your quest, and perhaps it has the answers of which you seek. Here's a hint, there's only one quest in the game about a stolen painting.

In Case you did not do this quest already
clue you are looking for is in the girl's room, in little box she has, you open it and it has painting utensils, when you close the box a quest dialogue box automatically opens up. this added to the paint on the floor in the dining room and the painting in the tower is all you need :)

I like the reward in this quest.
If you tell the countess "I suspect niether person", Chanel makes you a painting you can place in your house. Nifty.
Dammit, I thought if I said that the countess would tell me to just go back and find more clues. Oh well, better luck on character no. 2

Found all the clues but can't open the lectern in "her" room. Also found a "click-on" painting in a particular tower, but nothing happens. Can't seem to get any dialogue boxes.
Need some help, pls.

Load last save before quest and try again

I really enjoyed the quest! Except for one tiny spot on the carpet in the dining room, which I hasn't noticed and had to make a search through this thread to find, the rest went just ok :p
EDIT: a weird name for a topic, considering the fact that Chanel is a girl's name :)
