Romping through HK again, it's time to meet up with ol' Gordon Quick and Max Chen at the Lucky Money for some drinks. Before I even get to the door of the Lucky Money, Ling comes out to me and says, "Same guy twice in one night...not allowed". I'm like, "What is she talking about." So I right click on her sexy butt to see what she's got to say next and she says, "Satisfied? Yes?". So I'm like, "Oh, she's a hooker." Funny thing is, I never even spoke to her before.
So I continue through the doors and run to see ol' Gordon and Max, and we start conversating. About 30 seconds later I hear footsteps running up behind me...thinking it's MJ 12 again, I break out the shotgun and turn to face them. Crapola, it's ol' Ling...she runs up to me and says, "Same guy twice in one night...not allowed." I think to myself, "Then quit following me around." So I finish up with ol' Gordon and Max and am going to go swipe the credits where the lady takes the money for you to enter the club. I run down there and take the credits and when I turn to go back, there's ol' Ling again. It's at this point I realize, ol' JC put the smack down on that ***, but I wasn't there to witness it.
I run out of the club and to the exit of this level, you know where you can see out both sides of the little walkway your on, and you can see the water below. As soon as you cross this walkway the level saves, then loads up the Wan Chai Market area. So I'm sitting there enjoying the view, for the boat's cruising underneath me, and I thought that was a cool "attention to detail" they put into the game. Well, well, well, what do you know...here come those footsteps running towards me again. I look up, and yes, it's Ling. She stands there staring at me. At this point I started my own little chant, "Who da man? J...C! Who da man? J...C!"
When I crossed that invisible line that loads up the Wan Chai Market, well, she didn't follow, but it was cool nonetheless. I even went back to the Lucky Money again later, just to see if she was with another dude, or if she was waiting on ol' daddio to come back for her...what do you know...she come running out to meet me again.
Mad shout outs go out to the programming team on DX for making the game "just that more immersive" by giving us that little detail ;)

You can pick her up earlier, and she just follows you around. There's a bug where she follows you around after the MJ12 attack regardless. Most people kill her.
You know you want to....
It would be so easy....
Just squeeze the trigger....
Go on....
Do it.
Kill her.
Wax the little bitch.
She deserves it!
Blow her fucking brains out!!!!!!
KILL!
KILL!
KILL!

Master Villain: Your choice of words soooooooo reminds me of an X-Files episode, where electronic devices were making people kill each other, by having stuff flash up on their screens just like you said.
Anyways I killed her ass too. The "Same guy twice in one night...not allowed" line she kept saying as she kept following me around REALLY pissed me off after a while, so she got a taste of my blue flamey friend, Mr Dragon Tooth.

Like, with a calm, distracted voice: Most poeple kill her. Damn! Heh. This sounds so realistic, and brutal, yet you know immediately it has to be taken from a game or something, not just because it's on these boards .. so she dies more than once, or what? No one cares about her life? Wooho! This is
so mad.

Personally, I just ignore her and/or move quickly enough for Ling not to catch up with me (or at least not too often).
I also do not consider this a bug: as far as I remember she only starts following JC after the Triads've united and therefore can be perceived as a "bonus" from Max Chen for our part in the, ahem, negotiations.
Oh, and I really love Hong Hong in DX. Have I mentioned it before? Yes, I know I have.:)

Hong Kong is my favourite level too. All the little interactions, the scripted scenes at the beginning of the level; pure genious.

/bumps old thread
waring minor spoilers...
In my first game Paul died, when i went back to the Lucky money, no dance girl followed me.
My second time though Paul lived, and when i went back to the Lucky Money she was there following me. I think someone mentioned that Paul had been there a little earlyer. I assumed she had danced with Paul and then thought i was him when i arived right after he left.
I donno if it actualy works like that, this was a few months ago... but that was my impression at the time.

No one cares about her life? Wooho! This is so mad. When I played Deus Ex the second time around I decided to see who I could kill and get away with it. The dissapointing thing is that you can kill almost everyone without anyone else giving a toss. For instance, in the lucky money club you can kill all of the triad members at the table without any of them raising an objection to your actions.
