"Another One Bites The Dust"
I always thought that would be a good wedding march, too. At my mother's funeral, as they carried the casket out, the organ struck up a thundering version of "(
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/b/h/bhymnotr.htm) The Battle Hymn of the Republic". The looks of OMGWTF on somber, tear-covered faces were quickly replaced by smirks, smiles and the shaking of heads in approval (including mine).

Tom Fischer of Celtic Frost has apparently asked that Rex Irae (Requiem), which is a good song...
Mozart's? (I don't know any other, of course.) That's one of my least favorite out of his Requiem... erm... compiliation. Lacrimosa and of course, Kyrie, are the two best.

I was implicitely referring to the Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec version. I love this one.
That's from Edea's parade, not the intro!
Did I mention I want strippers at my funeral? And food. Damn it, I was pissed off when I found out they don't serve food at those occasions. I mean, being sad is one thing, but being sad
and hungry? And everyone is required to wear a Hawaiin shirt. No black. My goal is not to make people upset at my passing (nor happy, for that matter). Just to remember me in a good light and look to the future in good spirits.

I remember at a Japanese funeral ... all the woman are supposed to be attentive and pouring beer for all the men at the dinner, except here one maverick aunt just poured her own beer and then went out for a smoke. It was apparently shocking, but I thought that was so cool. Some old man looked at her expectantly and her eyes just scowled back: pour your own beer dammit; I need a cigarette.
Also surreal was my Laotian friend's funeral where they played Garth Broook's song "The Dance" (which is admittedly sad* as country music is wont to be, but come on) at the same time a row of Buddhist priests were chanting in one corner while a youth pastor was trying to speak over them, giving the main euology (since my friend was in one of those on-off-again Young-Life kind of circles, is it just social??) ... and at the end, at the saddest possible moment, a woman throws out these foil balls filled with money on the ground, some with a nickle (5 cents) some with $20 crumpled inside, and the Laotian women jump after them. It was poignent in a way to see how another culture deals with death, esp for a guy so assimilated with the rest of us.
Anyway, yeah, I just add these for the tangential story-value ITT.
*Chorus: And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end // the way it all would go. // Our lives, are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain // but I'd had have to miss the dance

It's a Celtic Frost song from their "Into the Pandemonium" album. But speaking of stealing the titles' of classical pieces, does anyone else agree that Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow did a way, way, way better "Hall of the Mountain King" than Savatage?

I think Yoko Kanno did that one. She's been responsible for every piece of music I ever liked from Japan including the Cowboy Bebop Soundtracks. Fabulous composer.
Aye, that's the girl's name. Yup, some fine music and what a singing voice, eh?

I'd also like to be buried standing up, because that will take up less area.
Why not cremation, then?

A good friend of mine always wanted to be completely stuffed with candy. His body, his clothes, his pockets, everything. He then wanted to be thrown off of a tall building to land kersplat into a playground full of happy children.

OMG I can't stop laughing
Anyways, music for my funeral? I won't be listening to it anyways, so I don't really care if someone wants to play Britney Spears.

I've been telling everybody that you're my girl,
Cause I'm not one to be shy.
You don't have to go with me if you don't want to, just
Tell everybody I'm your guy
You and me, girl, it's forever
Sha la la la la laaa
I've been telling everybody that you're my girl,
Cause I'm not one to be shy.
You and me, girl, forever and ever
You and me, girl, forever and ever
You and me, girl, forever and ever
And then a whole set of the entire 'streetsounds electro' back catalogue, which I WILL HAVE IN MY POSSESSION by the time I die.
