Hi, I'm pretty new to modding. But thanks to your tools I finaly have a hang on the basics of command lines wich is all a new world for me. It's all pretty interesting, really.
Anyway, I stumbled upon a problem, it may sound stupid but I want to work with the textures from Deus Ex 2, do some heavy editing with them, like a complete revamp.
I used mlb-tool to generate a matlib out of a csv file and now...well, I don't know what to do with this mlb file. Is there a way to extract the textures from it in a dds format ? Or am I completly wrong and should look for another tool if mlb-tool is not for the textures ? If that's the case, do you know of a program that could extract the textures from the game and recompile them ?
Thanks in advance for your answer, have a nice day !

If you want to extract and edit the textures (i.e. the image files), use (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151472&p=2477220&viewfull=1#post2477220) this tool on the IBD files.
Changed/replaced textures must be placed in Textures\DynamicallyLoaded, where they'll override those in the IBDs. I think there's a third-party tool which lets you replace textures in IBDs but the name escapes me right now.
mlb-tool is only needed if you want to fix or change the texture names or parameters of materials. A replacement MLB file must be placed in MatLib\DynamicallyLoaded.

Thanks a lot, I'll do that when I regain access to my PC ! :D
Can't wait to try it.

Hi, snobel:
I'm trying to use csc-tool to translate the subtitles in-game, but I have a problem.
-I use csc-tool -d (no arguments) in the ..\Content\T3\Sounds folder, and get the 'audio' and 'schemas' folders. But 'schemas' contains a 'conversations' subfolder, but not in 'audio'
-I can translate the *sch files in 'schemas'.
-I use csc-tool -c (again, no arguments), to compile, but then the subtitles (and voices) in-game disappear.
What I am doing wrong?
Thanks.

From the description, you're not doing anything wrong.
Which language are you changing? (And, out of curiosity, which language are you replacing it with?)
Can you give me an example of a schema file that you've changed, but the change failed in-game? It's best if it's something easy to test, like something early in the Inn or Castle missions. I'll try to reproduce the problem and if I can, I'll try fixing the bug.

I'm trying to translate the subtitle files to spanish. In fact there are an unofficial spanish translation (I worked on it), but it have a weird bug in the City maps and you get some crashes to desktop, so i'm trying fix it with another solution.
For example, I'm trying to translate texts like this:

Inline Image:
https://i.ibb.co/0XbbcPw/pantallazo.pngWhen I use csc-tool -d, I get the 'schemas' folder and I can translate the subtitle's files. But when I use csc-tool -c, then both the subtitle text and sound disappear in-game.
I'm tried with physical version of the game. And this is odd: I'm trying now with the Steam version, and I won't get the same error... but there are not any text translated.
I'm keep going to trying.
Edit: Ok, maybe my first try was a mistake. Now I can to decompile with csc-tool -d, but when edit the sch files and then I compile with csc-tool -c, nothing happens. No errors, but no translated texts.

When editing the files, are you adding text to the lang_spanish tags? Or modifying one of the four existing languages?

Ok, it works :)
I needeed to edit the system/default.ini file and configure the spanish language. Silly me.
Thank you very much, snobel!

Well, yes, that would be required. :)
