Greeting to all SS2 fellows.
I purchased SS2 2 month ago and have enjoyed well. This game is most scarying &immersive horror game ever I've played. After finished my first clumsy game play(as a Navy character), I found this forum by google. I'm new to here so I whish the questtions I ask are not ridicluous ones.
here I go.
Q1.
Who the hell is one have erased the recent memory of character? And Why he/she must do that? Is there any plausible reason ? I suspected false-Pollito( ie SHODAN ), but I had no way to find out her real intention.
Q2.
One of the most stunning & sacred script was happend on the Operation deck(the 4th floor). Finally I got the code for maintanance tunnel, fixed the leaky coolant pipes, cleaned up the radiation, re-powered the elevator, located all toxic bottles, and found the bitching Pollito, but she was dead. Then SHODAN appeared. First time, I thought SHODAN killed her.
However when I found Dr. Pollito's final log on Richenbacker, I realized Dr. Pollito had revived SHODAN from her eternal sleep, and that fact depressed her so much. Finally she suicide. Here is my 3rd question. How did Dr. Pollito wake up SHODAN ? By accident? or any kind of ambition ?
Q3.
In final cutsene I realized that the mutated girl is Lebeca who is lover of Tommy. If my memmory is correct, they must be the only ones who made successful escape form Von Braun. I saw them launching their escape POD on command Deck(the 6th deck ?).
Regardless, Why does she assimilated to the SHODAN ? Is it her free-will ? Just like main characters' free-will ? That means SHODAN proposed the same proposal to Lebacca in escape POD ?
best regard.
p.s. My mother tounge isn't English, so plz forgive my bad English :)

Welcome to the forums, sorgol! :D
Q2. I think accident is most likely. Polito was investigating the data wafer that a member of the expeditionary team had discovered; she realised that it contained data, and voice samples in English. Everything lead on from there.
Q3. At first, I had thought that Rebecca had been 'infected' somehow whenever she was bitten by a spider during the game. I realise that makes little sense, given that the spiders were part of The Many rather than SHODAN, but that was my theory.
It's also possible that, when SHODAN began playing with the Von Braun's faster-than-light drives to alter reality, one of the things she did was to implant a portion of herself into Rebecca.

Q1. Watch the first cutscene more carefully.

1. Shodan had your characters memory erased. I reckon this was most likely done for the benifit of shodan/polito. Since, the less you knew, the better.
2. Accidently I believe, probably just a simple case of "didn't know what the bloody hell I was messing with until too late".
3. People have made all sorts of speculations. Personally, I believe Rebecca was probably changed somewhat during Shodans little power trip at the end though. Seems the most logical anyway...

1. Goggles' memory was "uploaded" to his brain if I remember correctly, but that process was stopped by Shodan (or something else?). So he didn't remember anything that happened in the past few weeks.

The guy (I forget his name) who went down to the planet and managed to somewhat resist The Many's calling, made a log regarding Goggles' memory being tampered with. IIRC, it's behind a pillar in the room on Ops where the mass execution took place.

I don't remember that log, I thought I had seen everything in SS2 that is possible to see. :p

It's a message to Polito. To paraphrase, he says "Why did you want me to tamper with the memory of that grunt? Why don't you want him to remember volunteering for the operation? He DID volunteer, right? Every message from you gets stranger and stranger."
