I don't know how many of you have seen this before, but....

A little dubious huh? heh heh heh
I figured this one out when an employee of SHODAN SECURITY told me off for loitering near an ATM while the security employees were emptying it.
I was in shock, I couldn't stop staring at the logo on the guy's shirt! haha.
Mind you though, Shodan is an actual word. So it's not that unusual, just in the context of security systems.

SS2 SHODAN had some faint Japanese stylizations, didn't she? I seem to recall seeing a dojo map around here somewhere that had gotten left out of the final game.
Also endgame SHODAN wears a silly dress thing that vaguely resembles a kimono as designed by someone who isn't too familiar with traditional Japanese dress.
The original idea was to go through her 'memories' of Earth, having been designed by Japanese programmers. Or something like that. Cyborg Ninjas + dojo = win.
By the way, who the heck came up with the idea to put CYBORG NINJAS in the game? It seems so cliched...

Cybernetic ninjas were the SHIT back in the SS1 days. Plus they made no noise while they were attacking so if you didn't see them when you entered a room you wouldn't know they were there until you were getting ripped up.
I have always wondered why SHODAN chose to make cybernetic ninjas though. Of course they make more sense than gorilla-tiger hybrid mutants and hulking horned cyborgs.

I was under the impression that the cyborg assassins were already around before SHODAN went rampant. Probably used for dirty corporate activities and Citadel security. I imagine SHODAN merely took control of them as Xerxes did decades later. Like the log from Korenchkin talking about using them as a personal military force against the UNN should it come down to it...probably standard issue for top TriOp execs :)

I still remember how much my eyes rolled when I ran into the first SS2 cyborg assassin, complete with black gi and cyber-ninja stars. Most everything until then I had managed to swallow under suspension of disbelief -- well, the monkeys just had be nodding my head; a little too canned because they didn't have anything to do with the central story-arc, just a "convenient" aside. But the ninjas had me outright saying aloud: Oh, come on! I wanted to kill all of them off just to erase the possibility that these guys could even exist, haha.

What the heck are you talking about? We know they were in SS1.
