Discussed.

I'm pretty stoked about this, actually. Nintendo's leveraging their one greatest strength in the best way possible.
The greatest concern is the battery life on the tablet portion. If Nintendo isn't able to eek at least 4-5 hours out of it between charges, it'll be DOA.

On the flip side, the longer the battery lasts, the heavier it will probably be. Looks like a really good idea, overall.

Considering how it's designed to be held with two hands, it could easily be over a pound without people complaining too much.

Looks stupid as shit. Then again, that's basically been Nintendo's thing since the mid 90's.
I can't imagine why anyone over the age of 12 would want more electronic shit to shove in their face all day. I also don't get the "ad full of adults who are gathering together outside to play with a goddamn tablet" but whatever.

THE FUTURE IS PORTABLE, BROSEPH!

You need to end that sentence with a "broseph" for maximum burnitude, Abysmal.
Jason Moyer on 21/10/2016 at 02:17
Come at me broseph!
Also, whatever happened to gibroni?
Renzatic on 21/10/2016 at 02:35
I dunno. I think it went out of style back in the 90's.

At first I thought it was silly but I can actually see it doing pretty well. Start a game at home, then take it with you and carry on a bus. The multi-player aspect could also be fun. It's a clever scheme to keep people playing, kind of how like Netflix automatically cues the next episode - the less obstruction to continue watching/gaming the more likely you'll keep going.
Looks like Nintendo is also trying to bridge the gap between home console, portables and tablet. Sort of a one-device-to-rule-them-all. We'll see how it works out in practice but if they do it right and have the right launch titles, I can see it going well for them. If this thing also supported things like apps or even ran on android (unlikely knowing Nintendo), it could even replace tablets entirely.
