Brand is an annoying twerp. At least bonafide rock stars are usually somewhat creative. He's all rock star image and little else. I suppose he's notable for being one of the few English alleged comics who does the wall-to-wall crude joke schtick that's actually thin and popular with the ladies at the same time.
Ross, I dunno; he's been on a steep decline since doing those stupid anti piracy ads a few years back. Still seems like a clever bloke though.
Hardly worth questions in the house though; agreed there.

Because, essentially, the BBC, and therefore Ross and Brand's salaries, are paid for by the public and 18,000 of said public complained (even though only two people complained during the show, and only for Ross' use of the word 'fuck'). It would have been remiss of him/the government not to at least mention it.
I think the bigger failure is that the show was pre-recorded and somewhere an editor is sitting cowering in their office because they cocked up and broadcast the show.

I haven't seen/ heard/ read the actual 'sketch' (yet), so I can't really comment on this, but being the opinionated buffoon that I am, I will say this:
HANG 'EM ALL!

They went too far, and given that they're both very well paid with License Fee money, that makes it extra irresponsible.
Agreed however that this isn't high enough up the Priority-o-meter for Gordon Brown to be chipping in.

I'm all for both the public debate and the consequences being meted out on the two parties involved.

Nobody would give a shit about this if it wasn't Manuel
Muzman on 30/10/2008 at 13:18
You know, I'm not so sure about that. If they started randomly and repeatedly ringing the unfamous grandfathers of Brand's alleged conquests it might actually be worse (unless it's some rough old Yorkshireman who promises to beat the shit out of both of them. That'd be pretty funny)
