I quickly solved the puzzle by clicking on X's until the circuit opened. It can be found in the hallway (it activates a mini-elevator platform) and a Medipatch is nearby. My question is, how does one read the "solution" if there is no quick fix as in this case. It can be found in the Strategy Guide put out by Bernie Yee. Here's what the "solution" looks like:
L1,2: 6,1;5,1;4,1;2,1;1,1
There's another "solution" for Level 3, and it is very similar.
Any and all advice will be very much appreciated.
Then I proceeded to one of the side rooms (per strategy guide) where I did find an e mail log from Stack, a group access card and now a dead Serv-bot. But couldn't find the severed head which is supposed to be "in a secret compartment near the ceiling on the way out"which I took to mean in this side room. I would appreciate any help in locating this "secret compartment". Thanks. pukey

I don't have that hint book, but I suppose that those numbers should mean something like 'Level 1 and 2' (the puzzle solution is valid for the difficulty level 1 and 2, and it has a different solution if you're playing with the puzzle difficulty set to 3), and the solution should be clicking on the grid at position 6,1 (Column 6, Row 1), then 5,1 (Column 5, Row 1), and so on, with the positions being defined as something like this:
. 1 2 3 4 5 6
1
2
3
4
5
6
As for the severed head, it has no interest at all for the game. The only particular thing that makes it different is that it's one of the few identifiable heads in the game (it belongs to Althea Grossman). If you really want to find it, then when you're inside that room with the access card, just look above the exit door. It's a small alcove, and you'll be able to see the head there if you jump.

That head is hard to grab. There's this game physics glitch where you can "trampoline" to the necessary height to grab it; you need to jump just as you hit the ground to bounce higher than a normal jump. It's really tricky, but you can get to spots that normally would be out of reach if you get good at it.
But the head is not used for anything in the game. The only important severed head is Ghiran's on Level 3.

If you're not interested in solving the wire and grid puzzles yourself, I would, if I were you, instead of using the strategy guide to solve them, restart the game (you're very near the start anyway) with puzzle difficulty 1 (for easy puzzles) or 0 (for instantly solved puzzles).
Enjoy the game!
