I screwed up and sold my uniform that was given to me when i joined the Imperial legion?? Now im in the middle of a quest (Neutralize a Sixth House shrine. ) and when i go to the fort buckmoth all the people say " your out of uniform come back when your serious"???? I went back to who I sold it to and they dont have it??? What can I do?

Equipping any Imperial Curaiss or Shield should be enough - it doesn't have to be the one you were given.

Furthermore, Sirollus Saccus in Ebonheart has Imperial cuirasses for sale, and he will talk to you when you're out of uniform, unlike some other Imp. Legion armourers.

IIRC, he is still above "Spearman" in the Legion. Therefore, he won't talk to you if you're out of uniform and you're a rank or two below him.
If you're desperate, go to Hodlismod in Caldera. He has a Duke's Guard Cuirass on sale. If you aren't planning on getting the quest line completed anytime soon, you should look in the caves beneath the shrine in the Imperial Commission. There will be an artifact cuirass there that is legion armor.

I remember seeing a dead adventurer with a full set of Imperial armor in Dagoth Ur, IIRC.
