Thanks guys, it is now out on steam
Melan, two vendors asked for non-drm version, hopefully publisher will set it up, so there will be alternative to steam, but I can't promise 100%, since that's not my decision only.

Steam download complete but I have to go to work. Looking forward to playing tonight. I don't think I've been as excited to dive into a game since Dishonored.

Can't hurt to give Gog a reason to look into picking it up. :P

Do the standard baddies need 2 shots to the head to go down on Normal difficulty, or do I just suck? That was not the case in the beta iirc.

Yes, they do. And yes, you suck for not using stealth ;)
I only played a couple hours last night but so far I am liking it. I love the atmosphere. The game looks good, although the specular bump mapping is a bit much indoors. Sound is perfect dark ambient. Gameplay is fairly Thiefy, crouching in shadows, watching patrols, sneaking up on bad guys. The story telling is Shock-like and has my interest so far.
My only real complaint is that the areas are big and detailed but mostly empty. There's lots of space to explore but aside from checking out the level design, no reason to.
