Hey flux, any way you can get some of us TTLGers in on the beta test? Can't think of a better group to test a game.

I second that motion! :D

Sure, my inbox awaits those interested here.
But before that I need to find out something : The reasons, general lack of interest for Solarix over here...
I mean c'mon, you have a problem if ZB or deathtol alikes are not even bashing your project, when it claims to have influences from thief and system shock, over ttlg forums.
One might argue like henke, the game not having usp, but I don't remember any "horror" game that grants you stealth mechanics in the old-fashioned way. You usually run away or blast through enemies in horror games, here, you can sneak around, how that's not a usp, that's what I really have to understand.

There's not a lot of discussion about any upcoming games, really. TTLG has a fairly small number of regular posters now. I imagine most people are like me, and have slowly drifted away over time as life goes on. Not to say we're gone, but we're not regularly posting. I don't think we often get that critical mass of posters that sparks a long ongoing discussion.
But I think if you cornered almost any TTLGer, told them about Solarix, and asked if they were interested, they'd say yes. I know personally I have always thought stealth was the most obvious genre for horror games, so I'm interested in playing your game. But frankly, life is busy and I doubt I'll get to it until quite some time after release. Most games I play nowadays were released several years earlier: I think I'll be playing yours much earlier than that!

I'm interested, but in the final release version only. Also, like Chade, I'm waiting for a time with less real life commitments.

Amnesia, Outlast, and Alien Isolation comes to mind as a few recent horror games where you need to use stealth to make progress.
Not that you need a usp for a game to be good. From what I've seen of the videos so far Solarix is shaping up nicely, and I would certainly love to play through the beta and give you my feedback. PM sent.

I'd gladly join the beta if I thought my PC could handle it ...

Hehe, I meant this especially "
stealth mechanics in the old-fashioned way"
The stealth in the games you mentioned are not "stealth" the way I would define stealth, but then again we all understand different things when we say stealth. There is hardly an AI in Amnesia and Outlast, more like scripted "pawns" and the AI in Alien is, well, a masterpiece but you hide more than you sneak there, that can be a bit boring afterawhile...(I loved it though)
Anyhow, henke, pm sent.
