If you have the navmesh on the brush underneath then you don't need to alter the navmesh on the smesh stairs. You don't need to add any volumes either.
Beleg and I were talking about the Minimalist Project - a mod for DS that improves some of it's flaws (frob colour, loot glint etc.) and makes it a bit more like the other two games.

Well, I'm having problems with the whole cuboid thing, dangit. I tried that before, but I'm a perfectionist and I could not deal with how imperfect it was. I use the tuts, I really do; I have the tuts open while I'm editing so I can quickly go to necessary sections. Arg :p
Some people can't just read a tut and get it, some of us are kinetic learners instead of visual ones, okay? :laff:
I will keep working with this whole cuboid dealio and hope that one day I crack the code.:nono:

Hmm, sloped brush you say? Maybe that is what I'm doing wrong, I'm building a cube and then trying to slope it...dang me and my innovative nature! *shakes fist at the sky* If I sound like a moron, please blame my severe kidney pain and the huge amounts of Vicodin I am on. Makes this whole comprehension thing a bit difficult.................:sly:

To make the cuboid just click the cube builder brush icon, then align it with the stairs and drag the back end so it is the same length as the stairs. Then with the vertex editing tool (in the side view, or whichever window is showing the side view of the stairs) select the two end corners and raise them so that the bottom one meets the top of the stairs.
