Is there an option to reenable "software mode" in T1\G (NewDark)? I think it was gone even before NewDark (not sure when the option vanished from the menu exactly, it seems like modern video cards no longer support it). Yes I know it looks pixelated, I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic and would like to play the game in that mode again

There is no such thing as T1/G NewDark. There is T2 NewDark running T1/G missions in some sort of backward compatibility mode. T2 never had a software mode, so T2 NewDark has no software mode, so T2 NewDark running T1/G missions has no software mode.

Although, you can go into cam_ext.cfg and set "tex_filter_mode" to 0.
This actually looks worse than Thief's original software renderer because it doesn't even perform filtering on lightmaps. So... enjoy?
