Staying with 1.0005 'til I finish the game, then clearing away the mods and firing up MP again if I can find a server nearby.
It occurs to me that if you combine GSC saying they won't work on the patches until CS is done, with the fact that 1.0006 seems to be out and 1.1 beta got leaked, I don't think we'll have to wait 'til freaking August for Clear Sky...

Oh yay, a multiplayer patch. what we really need is the singleplayer patch! :(

What's the multiplayer like on this? It's mostly just DM isn't it?
I don't really like generic "realistic" DM usually, but the size of the game area might make this interesting (if there weren't very many players on a map, say)

1.0005 breaks aliVe. :/ I should get into MP though, but I gotta beat SP first.

I tried it right after Stalker came out. Laggy and everyone could take less damage than a Bandit, so it was "First monkey seen, first monkey dead". Fun for an hour or so. No idea how it is nowadays. Dont get the fixation on MP especially with TF2 and CoD4 out now, was pretty so-so hmkay unremarkable (Woah lets buy Stalker for the super Multiplayer! It has less MP players than UT3 for chrissakes :laff: ) before them, now it can pretty much pack and go home.
Try it i guess v:pv

I actually just tried it last week. Quite fun really, bit of a CS-like game with respawning. Did some serious damage with an Enfield when I climbed a tower and started looking for the enemy. It took them a while to come get me, and by that time I was already gone. Nothing I'd play all the time, but I would like to see more of it.

There is a version that supports 1.0005.
