The setting interests me, but I heard AC:Unity blew gratuitous chunks so this feels like a "wait and see (if they changed things (for the better))" title.

They patched it and it's fine now if you're running current gen hardware like a i5 CPU and GTX 970.

PC version unsurprisingly delayed almost a month for extra QA and optimisation work. Assassin's Creed Syndicate PC pushed back nearly a month to improve quality

Has anyone played Unity in its current state? I've got the game but haven't yet played it... Too much of a backlog, mixed with all the bad things I've heard and read about the game, although I generally like the Assassin's Creed games and love their recreations of historical locations.

So, AC:Syndicate comes out today on consoles, in a month on PC. (http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/assassins-creed-syndicate) PS4 metascore is 78%, which is pretty average for the series. Polygon liked it (http://www.polygon.com/2015/10/22/9553029/assassins-creed-syndicate-review-xbox-one-ps4-pc) well enough to give it 8.5 and GameSpot gave it 90. I've been watching Hannah at Yogscast LP it for a few days, and though it has the usual, occasional AC wonkyness to the movement, I still kinda wanna play it! Even though I've been so-so about the AC's I've played in the past. It's like the AC games are a hot stove that I keep thinking won't burn me the next time I touch it.

I still need to finish AC3 at some point, then play AC4. After that, I'll need a long think about whether or not I want to continue to plough hours into a franchise I may not live to see the end of.

I'm becoming convinced that the final AC game will just be a camera you set up behind yourself and the game is you watching yourself playing all of the AC titles with an animus GUI overlay.
