Simple Answer:
When I have played every possible mission, in every possible way, and can beat them 100% blindfolded, bound, and gagged.

My favorite combination of answers: when I die and Thief 5 will be already released :)
In other case, I will not stop playing after death. I even think I will have much more free time then. Though to access forum for help could be difficult.

I thought I was old (55), but after reading these posts, I see that there are a lot of old geezers out there still playing. The Thief community is not a bunch who worries about having the biggest and fastest in 24 million colors and THX surround.
Been considering whether or not to create another mission. Didn't know if there was any more interest. I've got one in beta right now and should be releasing it next week or so.

Really fascinating...old taffers, young taffers, middle-aged taffers ( I'm 33, by the way )...I guess we'll all be playing FM's as long as they come...I know I will !!!

I'm forty and just stopped playing T2 fan missions, the originals were too hard for me on T2, and most authors want to impress with ridiculously hard missions, and the last T3 mission I tried had severe clipping problems, so I ended up outside the map world, and died.
And so died my FMs thirst, bah, back to playing something else.
:erg:
PS
I sucked at thief 2 big time anyway.
I just read your reply Martin.
I guess you just need some skills here.... Just keep on playing the games .... You'll get the hang of it ..... and THÁN get hooked!!!!
It's
SO worthwhile!!!
Don't be shy to ask some questions here on the forum

I have just been thinking, as you do sometimes, i am coming up to being 51 years old soon and i am still playing fm's. Is this normal, shouldn't i be doing other past times like, gardening or moaning about the weather or listening to classical music.
Just wondering how long you think you will keep playing fm's for, can't see any reason to stop playing them so i will still be playing them when am i 60, if there are still being made.
I really don't know how I ended up reading this funny thread, only "just after" 16 years it was posted.
I feel like some kind of "survivor".
I'm 52, as of now.
I'm still playing Thief (I began 25 years ago).
Sometimes I do some gardening, sometimes moaning about the weather, always listening to classical music.
I probably never quite grew up, who knows, or maybe I should say who cares.
Certainly I've never ceased "dromeding my life".
I love the dromeding mental process. :D:D:D
Cheers!
