Don't get me wrong, Daveh. I bet there are a ton of funny moments people can cite since season 4 (even I like the "evil eye" skit with the Koyanaqatsi music that was getting linked a year or two back) but the writing was consistently lousy across the board when I stopped watching. Characters weren't developing, they were one-note gags that were increasingly off-tune and grating, and the plot meanderings never came close to any of the truly emotional punches with the dead Dr Cox's buddy thing and when JD dumped Elliot for like the third time I just outright fucking hated the useless idiot.

After that, I think I will borrow/steal his Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
I think you'll enjoy it; necessarily a rather rushed series but the writing, when it hits the high gear, brings back all that old WW fun.

Oh, I loved Studio 60 when it wasn't focussing to much on <strike>Aaron Sorkin's</strike> Matt Albie's stupid love life.

I really enjoyed the first season of Leverage, and Burn Notice is quite fun thatnks to the McGuyver spy tips and the irresistable Bruce Campbell.
God knows why, but I'm still sticking with Dollhouse for another couple of episodes. The fourth episode actually approached acceptable television, but so far it's mostly been dire.

True, true. But yeah, it has gotten much better this season, and there's actually some character development again. In fairness, I don't think any show in that format has ever/will ever come close to matching the dead Dr. Cox's buddy episode. That was brilliant beyond the scope of the show and the genre and they'll never live up to it again.

Are you saying AIDS isn't funny?
Makes me laugh.
Fringe is my new favorite; but, for that matter, Simpsons, Family Guy, Fringe, and House are about the only TV shows I watch.
...oh, and American Idol (I'm so fucking gay)
I find myself watching PBS more and more as it's not just the same vapid bullshit recycled, repackaged, and renamed. Also, since I long ago got rid of the satellite dish, I make sure to buy the DVDs of
Cities of the Underworld from the History Channel--awesome show!

Californication is pretty entertaining if you like David Duchovny, and even better if you're attracted to David Duchovny.

Californication is brilliant. Fresh. Exciting. Superbly written. I never really cared for Duchovny - though he was hot in Twin Peaks - but here he's true rock'n'roll. I'm really buying it. Then also due to tasty popular culture references, which I'm always a sucker for. Nerdy me. Just like Vampire Bloodlines... Hell, he wrote books like Seasons in the Abyss and God Hates Us All!
I'm into Lost again. After a long break due to overdosing the very strong season 4 got me back. Season 5 is too hilariously constructed even for its own standards but hey I just wanna have fun. Mostly.

Been re-watching Seasons 1-4 of The Office (US) last few weeks. Then I rewatched the UK original as well. Overall, the US version is better. If anyone here has yet to see it I recommend starting with the season two. In the first season they stay too close to the original and it just feels like a cheap and unnecessary copy.
Also watching: Simpsons, Kung Fu, Breaking Bad

Yeah yeah laugh and be elitist with your "haw! haw! my foreign TV show with a plot more obfuscated and esoteric than the average David Lynch film is LOADS better than your bollocks-arse poppycock Amerikkkan television programme!"
Wait, are you talking about Lars Von Trier's "The Kingdom"? I watched it a few weeks ago and goddamn, it was good. It did suffer the same problem as Twin Peaks of getting boring as hell in the second season though.
