Just started watching True Blood. Interesting setting for a vampire story.
And is it some kind of law that the first episode of any show on HBO/Showtime have gratuitous sex/nudity? That always seems to be the case.
It starts here tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it.

Well, probably no surprise but, *drum roll*, DEADWOOD. God, what a great HBO drama. Even tops my previous fave, Oz.
I also like South Park, Family Guy, and Robot Chicken as animation category faves.

Just watched the 2nd episode of Warehouse 13 (Tricia Helfer guest starred) (had to watch it online: damned cable has too many glitches & caused me to miss it on TV) and I'm definitely lovin' it. I had my doubts at first & thought it was just going to be an X-Files ripoff, but so far no blood & guts or beyond-belief-weird-and-seriously-makes-you-gag-repulsive type creatures, which is okay by me. Saul Rubinek (as Artie Nielsen) is enchantingly strange enough to be entertaining, though I'm still waiting for Ms. Kelly & Mr. McClintock to become more comfortable in their roles.
So far my fave is still Eureka, though.

The drought in summer tv has actually thrown up some interesting tv shows I would otherwise have missed out on.
Currently heavily involved in:
Torchwood - Children of the Earth: I was never really a fan of Torchwood but this 5-episode mini "movie" because thats what it is; is fucking good television and I highly reccomend you pick it up. Each episode is an hour long and together it is up there with the best the BBC can put together. Last hour today then!
Better off Ted - mix of Arrested Development/Scrubs/30 Rock. I like it.
How I met Your Mother - mainly because I'm a whore for all things Neil Patrick Harris and he's clearly the star in this. Quite funny if cheesy at times.
True Blood - grabbed the first season based off the good reviews I constantly hear on podcasts and the interwebz. Its good, I was expecting Buffy but its bascially just Boobs and Blood - and thats all a grown guy like me needs these days. Aherm.

Yep, it is.
I also quite like Clone(a bit strange) and Being Human(good supernatural action/drama) thanks to Sci-Fi fridays on ABC1(a line up of British sci-fi shows including Torchwood which I hate)

So I watched the premiere episode of the new Showtime series, Dark Blue. Dylan McDermott (of David E. Kelley's The Practice) plays the head of a deep cover police unit.
If you're looking for a new Wire or Shield, this definitely isn't it. It felt exactly like an episode of a glossy, episodic crime procedural made for Network TV. It all clicked into place when I saw that it was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. You won't find realistically portrayed characters, within an arcing serial story here.
The only reason I can see why it was sold to Pay TV network is because they can push the violence a tiny bit more. There's none of the usual "too hot for network" fodder like hard swearing.
In conclusion, this is precisely the type of formulaic dirge that Dethtoll would go apeshit over.
EDIT: HAHA, it's a TNT show, not Showtime. That explains everything really.

The Office US version would definately be my favorite tv show currently. Such a good show.

Dorm Life
It's kind of like The Office style fused with a bit of Arrested Development humor (although no ten episode setup for a joke - AD will never be beaten on that front). It's gone a bit up and down lately but I'm still enjoying it.

I was a fan of Weeds until the fourth season. I haven't even finished that season let alone taken part in the fifth. Season three was meh... all the edge to the show is gone. Now it's boring.
I do like the IT Crowd, and the kid inside me finds Trigger Happy TV amusing.
