They've already renewed it, you know, albeit with a limited budget.

Have a link I could read up on?

I never thought it was possible to combine Texas Chainsaw Massacre with Of Mice and Men with a healthy dose of "based on a true story" until I saw tonight's Criminal Minds season finale.

After stumbling around for the past week, I've settled on The Shield Season 1 which passed me by.
Four episodes in - my god, what a show.

Chuck has been renewed but according to the (
http://defamer.gawker.com/5263174/nbcs-chuck-exists-only-to-sell-subway-sandwiches) Defamer the producers made a devil's deal to keep it on. Truthfully, I don't think they should bother. I thought it was an enjoyable premise at first, and I'm always glad to see Adam Baldwin get work, but it got steadily stupider and more annoying. Also, I'll be the first to say that Yvonne Strahovski has perhaps
The great body of the current epoch, but the gratuitous cleavage, underwear, and ass shots were insulting to my intelligence, demeaning to the actress, and detrimental to the quality of the show. Then again,
my GOD does she have a body.
I've followed the winding course of the development of Dollhouse since over a year ago. When I read the description my first thought was 'this is fucking retarded'. When I realized that that was exactly what I said about Firefly I decided to suspend judgement. Then came the stories that Whedon scrapped and reshot the first six episodes, but I still held out hope. As for the actual series, as I watched each new episode I tried to hold off on my verdict. After all, the first season of Buffy was really nothing to rave about. But with each subsequent show I became increasingly certain that Whedon had finally stepped on his dick. Then I watched episode 6. I still haven't watched the remaining episodes from this season but if they are as good then I will be looking forward to season two with bated breath.
Anybody here who isn't watching 'Supernatural' needs to surrender his or her geek credentials and never post here again. For those of you who don't know what it is, think of a blue-collar X-Files with lots of guns, a classic rock/classic heavy metal soundtrack, and some of the best character development and interaction you'll come across. Did I mention the guns? Oh, and a classic Impala muscle car, if that grabs you. The Comedian from Watchmen? He's the Dad. Ghosts and demons and legends, oh my. They just finished season Four and it's been renewed for a fifth, so you wouldn't be signing on to a sinking ship.

Don't watch TV since a few years back. I find the Net more adequate in meeting my TV/Movie needs when something's lacking from my DVD/Blu-ray collection.
Though, in honor of the thread's purpose, I've been having a ball watching The Nanny in YouTube. I do hope to eventually watch seasons 4 and 5 of Lost, and if the final season's any good with a worthy ending I -might- just make it my first series to purchase (not counting mini-sieres like Rome or Band of Brothers).
Mind you, I do have a lot of TV series I'd love to watch but there's no hurry at the moment.
Cheers :)

I'm just putting this here again for my 'middle of the road joe-ness get's called geeky now. I don't really understand this' train of thought I've had going for some time.

She has to keep her brain alive somehow I suppose (that's what you meant right?).
This gives a good excuse for the 'Aus chicks in US shows' score card I've been thinking about lately.
Peta Wilson in
La Femme Nikita (which no one really seemed to like even though it had a good run). Trail Blazer.
Melissa George as the go-to lesbian in all kinds of things. Trail Blazer.
Yvonne Strahovski in
ChuckAna Torv in
FringeDichen Lachman in
Dollhouse (who a few critics have said should be the lead)
Toni Colette in
The United States of Tara (not as interesting because she's quite well known to begin with)
Stephanie Jacobsen in
Battlestar Galactica (only Razor and she gets the bullet, but a lead none the less) and
Sarah Connor Chronicles.
There's more, but I can only really think of the geeky-ish stuff (and there's some blokes too but, yeah whatever)
edit:
Oh yes, some name-and-a-bit folks
Emilie de Ravin in
LostPortia de Rossi in
Arrested Development

I have no idea what this means.

I can see why that might be (it doesn't sound particularly geeky to me. More like the sort of thing just about everyone watched and gassed about at school the next day. Like the X-files.
The things called 'geeky' and how they have shifted over the years is a curiosity of mine. I meet seriously ordinary people who call themselves geeky about something or other these days, to which my reaction is usually "Get the hell out of my maligned sub-group you horridly normal, well adjusted people!". It was never that straightforward to begin with but I have my principles. No, wrong p-word. Prejudices, that's it.)
