My feelings are running the gamut with regards to season 2 of The Wire.
At first I felt it was terribly slow but interesting in spots. I thought the docks stuff was relatively boring and the stuff with Avon, Dee, Stringer etc was keeping the show afloat, also felt that the Russian mob etc were a bit Sopranos-like and not as real/gritty as the first season's streetsmart nature.
However, by midway through the season I cared less about the continuing plot strands from before and instead got quite into the Sobotka plot. I guess a lack of flavour and tension in the lowrises and in prison left me a bit cold on the Barksdale side.
Then when I least expected it I got my heart broken by D'Angelo's murder. I really liked his character throughout the series. I knew Stringer had to be the one orchestrating it but I'm mildly surprised that he's going it that far on his own.
Also if he was just doing it for that ass he's tapping, way to put the pussy on a pedestal Stringer.
But his behaviour makes me wonder what else he might do while Avon is inside, such as shack up with Proposition Joe as they continue to lose their territory and dominance.
Glad to see McNulty back on the case, and the booze, and even able to resist banging a woman left alone with kids who obviously mirrors his wife.
If I had one criticism to hit this season with though, it's that it seems too easy for everyone.
It seems too easy for their group to get to the stage that they've ordered the wire, cloning computers and getting info with great ease. It doesn't feel like the long hard grind they had before.
Similarly, Sobotka sort of discovers the cops are onto them and makes a very quick test which is too easily "caught out" without any real difficulty.
Episode 9 tonight.

So let me get this straight. Renowned hack Joss Whedon creates a series just about everyone (except me) loves- Firefly- and Fox shitcans it. He then creates a series even his biggest knobslobberers dislike and it remains on the air.
I'm pretty sure Fox is owned by the devil.

Apparently the second half of, what would have been, the two part ending (of the series) is going to be on the DVD instead, so they'll probably see how that does before making the final axe drop.
Reminds me of the old days when they were selling the Dunn Duuunnn super new cliff hangery episodes of the X-Files on VHS before the series started.

Eureka (on the SciFi channel). One of the best shows (besides BSG) to come along in a very long time. The sheriff cracks me up on a regular basis. :thumb:

So I blasted through Season 1 of Chuck this weekend. Gotta admit, I enjoyed it alot - its stupid, contrived and ridiculous all rolled into one but its entertaining.
I hear mixed reviews about Season 2 but I have a week of Lost, 24, Scrubs, House and Fringe to catch this week so will maybe drop Chuck for a while.
Oh and blonde CIA agent can fry my Weiner any day...

The things I used to watch on telly have ended until the next series.
I like Skins and Dexter...
after that, it gets a little vague. I bought my telly for the xbox..

I don't watch 'serious' shows or dramas. When I watch tv, it is shit like Chappelle's Show dvd, Reno 911!, Groomer Has It, various cartoons, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and various reality shows. Not the Survivor type, m ore like Ax Men, Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, etc...(oh and anything w/dogs).
