Well I'm just going by the frequency with which I change my profile pic, and that's about once per month. And I wouldn't want to bother an admin every month to upload my newest geekshot.
And before you comment on my current profile pic (being a prime example of what shouldn't end up in the album, yadda yadda), I had several photos of myself up there for a looong time. It just happens to be magic rabbit at the moment. (My own creation!!!)
Anyway, for the under-confident flat-breasted women like me it's still an option to just stay out of the photo album. I don't really care that much. It was just an idea how to make the thing more accessible.
