So... what's the best area? - by juveli

What do you think is the best portion of the game? For my own surprise, it seems that the VersaLife base in Antarctica is one of the most polished. Map loading is not breaking immersion so badly (there's only interior/exterior load), many different enemies (templars, greasels, karkians, turrets), Alex usually is fully upgraded at this point & all in all level design is nice.
Other opinions are much welcome. :)

Yeah, the arctic base was the best IMO. Mostly for the fact I was reminded strongly of 'The Thing' (the Film, not the Game). It was a very creepy atmosphere and very well done.

I'll go with Antarctica as well. It was creepy allright, especially the VersaLife base plus you had more room to move around, in comparison to those ridiculously tight urban levels. The only downside with that location is that it's borderline frustating if trying to go stealthily without Cloak. But, on the positive side, there were lotsa armored Templars to blow up with Spydrones:cool: That'll teach them.

Yeah, that was a good level. So there I was in Antarctica, merrilly wandering round, wandered round a corner straight into two bad guys and happy shot them, carried on my merry way, turned round a corner, bumped into something and went "EEK" and merrily shot it to shit.

I've enjoyed both the Cairo mosque and arcology, the mood of a "divided" city was somehow special.

I tend to like the bigger city areas better, though tragically Cairo is no Hong Kong

Cairo first time around. (Although lost its charm on replay.) Everything came together nicely, and things just flowed. Immersion was best overall here. (Maybe because level transitions made more sense?)

I hated cairo, the thought of being somewhere flat with no snow is downright terrifying to a snowboarder. Incidentally I liked Seattle more than antarctica, mostly because it had interaction (other than that with grays)... though the JC bit in antarctica was astounding, load of fun, trippy fun.

I vote for Cairo. Compared to most other parts of the game it had better side plots and secondary missions, it was overall welldesigned and it had more of a feeling of a city. I hardly felt like I was walking through a city while in seattle or Germany, Cairo was only a little bit better.
I really missed that city atmosphere of Hong Kong in this game.:(

I wasn't too crazy about any particular location in the game, but I suppose I'd go with Seattle (although it felt like a damn shopping mall).
It felt like there was just more to see and do there.
