I'd never figured Kolya to take that sort of stance. Disappointing.
I won't even comment on Tony.

To go along with what Kolya said, maybe I missed something, but how does one admin being a fuckwit cause the downfall of the whole community? If it turned out it ALL OF IT was some underground women sex abuse group - that would make sense. Maybe even if it turned out all the admins were also sexual abusers. But just one dude?
Ban the fucker to all hell, apologize, get him replaced, move on? Didn't the CEO for Firefox/Mozilla get canned for supporting some racist cause like 2 years ago? That didn't stop Mozilla from keeping going.
I know there was some thread closing with anything related to it, was that the real reason? Did the admins acknowledge the issue and just try to move past it by not discussing it further? Or were they trying to hide it and keep the accused guy still in power?

Thinking my opinion is reprehensible doesn't make it wrong. It's kinda like how every dude shrieking themselves silly about white racial purity always turn out to be the ones that had a black grandparent or somesuch.

He got canned for donating to an anti gay-marriage initiative in California during roughly the time period that Obama was strongly insisting that marriage is between a man and a woman.

So this is all it takes now to bring down a site like NeoGAF? Someone merely has to utter some half-accusations on Twitter that are - even from the scarce accounts we get - obviously biased parts of a much longer personal story- and BAM! decades of community work are gone. I guess that's all worthless now, because the admin maybe once tried to fuck a sauced girl in a shower.
Shush. The only way we'll cure the problem of sexual assault is if you always believe the accuser.

To what the first post was alluding to:
Some people just want to see the world burn.

Is it even possible for you to post without straw-manning?

The 'one dude' is the guy who owns and runs the site. How would you feel about continuing to visit TTLG if you found out Digi had a kiddie porn dungeon?

Based on her account it sounds an awful lot more like she got roofied and had an allergic reaction than she was sauced. People don't suddenly get vomiting sick after a couple of drinks. And that he apparently thought 'time for fucking!' implies he didn't think she would be conscious enough to object.

Two things:
This was not an isolated incident.
The guy was kind of a dick, banning people without a good reason (on a forum that had very strict moderation to begin with) and making moderators look bad.
It's not just about the shower incident, it's more about how the incident was handled. Again.

No, that's not all it takes. Read the article Starker linked too:
Scroll down the "A History of Questionable Actions" to read more about the backstory. Sounds like tensions had been building for along time between the moderating team and Evilore, this was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
Kolya on 24/10/2017 at 06:16
Well that explains it better then. It sounded like everyone left that forum (I've never been active there btw) because of some tweets.
Kolya on 24/10/2017 at 06:22
I mean the previous tensions with his moderators. Because his questionable history is having grabbed a girl's ass in a bar. Oh my.
