Right: let me be clear: I was not a member of NeoGAF because of the paid email host requirements. I'm still a poor Eastern-European student :P So, I was but a lurker. Anyway, NeoGAF was my place to go to read a *relatively* non-toxic gaming-and-geeky-related forum, for a while. This all seemingly burned down yesterday as the owner was exposed as an unredeemable PoS and all admins left. Sooo. any alternatives? I mean, I do love TTLG, but it's not the most lively place now, isn't it?

Nothing of the same scope comes to mind. Tom Chick's Quarter To Three forums, maybe? Giant Bomb?

Ooooh, didn't realize waypoint had forums. TTLG is still my main squeeze, tho I do occasionally step out on y'all with the (https://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/) Idle Thumbs forums and the (https://forum.rockpapershotgun.com/) RPS forums(icemann, Fafhrd, Aerothorn, and maybe some other TTLGers hang around here too).

Never signed-up there, but it feels weird that NeoGAF went down in flames. Well, nothing lasts forever. Will be interesting to see which site will take its place.

There are plans to restart the site without Evilore. It's just that certain groups of people are hellbent on killing any and all attempts of its revival, so this has to be done carefully.

So this is all it takes now to bring down a site like NeoGAF? Someone merely has to utter some half-accusations on Twitter that are - even from the scarce accounts we get - obviously biased parts of a much longer personal story- and BAM! decades of community work are gone. I guess that's all worthless now, because the admin maybe once tried to fuck a sauced girl in a shower.

Since mere accusations are enough, it's the witch hunts of Salem and McCarthyism all over again. Only this time the victims are white men in power, which no one has much pity with.
