Ok, ep 5 was just plain goofy. So was the cyberwoman punching the pterodactyl. :P

thankfully when the team handled plot arches in doctor who they managed to pull them off with confidence, so i am not going to be to phased by the alternative jack’s history - I am sure things will work out. And for the score card about how risky/disturbing this series is trying hard to be we had a paedophile within the 1st five minutes of this episode stalk a wee girl on her way home - but that is okay, cause he got choked to death by demon fairys stuffing him full of rose petals. – HA bet you wished for spoiler tags now!

Yes.
ME: Torchwood
MY DAD: I'm watching the Two Towers
ME: BS you are, we have it on DVD much higher quality than that and you are half asleep
MY DAD: Mumble about watching the Two Towers
So I have to wait until Wednesday for the latest WTF-Fest from RTD.
Countrycide..........Basically, It was a good episode. I like Owen's comment: 'Only in the countryside you sick fucks,' and the whole concept of canniballism ('scuse spelling) made for alot of interest.
However:
The lack of aliens was disturbing. I am aware that RTD said it would be a combination of human and alien crimes, but, all of this suspense followed by: 'Oh dear, it's just a nutter with a meat cleaver.......let's arrest him.
I'm sure I also wasn't the only one to notice the lack of a climax to the episode, and, for a man who is invincible, jack is showing:
1. loads of self control
2. loads of fear
3. Loads of willpower to not persue a life of crime.
Anyhoo, stupid (I can almost feel the apology post looming) comments by me aside, it was an OK episode.
Next week: TEH MIND READING CRYSTAL: W00T!
yeah! it again managed to be not rubbish! I thought it was kinda cool - the idea that jack could snap (again not often we get to this stuff on the beeb). Once again the main strenght of this programme seems to be the fact it is stiff up lip liberal lovey dovey bbc fluff (like doctor who) .... but NASTY!

We never really got an explaination for that super-human speed that we saw at the start, and the apparent loss of said speed at the end when a short woman with her hands tied together could outrun one of them.
On the other hand, I liked the fact that two middle aged humans nearly killed absolutely everyone.
As for Jack showing a surprising amount of fear despite being Captain Scarlett, I imagine it's because being 'killed' still hurts.
