(it's a rant, I'm still pissed off)
when I saw the third part of a Night in Rocksbourg I was complety thrilled in a "omg it's finally here wow wtflol coolnes!!!" way for about 10 minutes, time in which I installed thief 2 on my new pc. well, the thrill soon turned into hate, anguish and some of the most agressive cussing I ever mumbled. of course, thief 2 wouldn't run on this system because obviously it wouldn't be able to get along with the graphics card. sure, I tried fixing it somehow.. for more than two hours actually, sitting and searching for every possible way of making the game get passed the main menu and not crash like a plane without a pilot. I immediately started downloading all the TDS missions (again) and replayed them (again) just to shake off the bad mood, but man this is so frustrating. to think that I need to buy parts and make an older system so Thief would run... I just don't have the will (and time and money) anymore. I am hoping like mad that map makers will do more TDS fms.
and yes, I haven't posted on this forum for more than one year I think, but it's still as cozy as I remember it (and as crazy, heh)

Well, in one year quite a lot of fixes for issues with the modern technology have been found. Had a look at the FAQs yet?

I have. I searched in every nook and crany on this site and a couple of others I found via google. it's impossible, but yeah, here's to hoping for great TDS fms. (cheers :) )

I have. I can certainly say I've reached the peek of where almost no old game will work.

Well, give us more details about your system and the crash and issues you're seeing, someone here may be able to help.

Well it's pretty simple. no matter what I do, what files I tweak, what fixez I apply, in what order I apply them, I can't get any mission to start. Thief goes in the "not responding" phase, and it turns from fullscreen to a maximised window. It is obviously a problem with my video card (a 9600 gt), but modifying settings in the nvidia control panel or installing a different driver for it didn't seem to help. I combined solutions eventually, but to no result.
And seeing as this thread starts to get techy, I think I should've posted it in the legacy forum. allthough I wanted it to be more of an instigation to t3 fm makers, heh

He said he already tried DDFix and it didn't work. I think...

that was among the first things I tried. like I said afterwards I started mixing tweaks seeing as none of them worked on they're own.
