Yeah, I really didn't want to see Italy advance based on the utter shit way they got through the game against Australia. Also, the near pathological hatred I've built up against them over the years for leeching the joy out of nearly every game they played with their constant cowardice whenever they manage to get a lead (say hi to the angry young man with the chainsaw Mr Trappatoni). Also, also: Totti.
Still, I must admit they had an edge over the Germans in that game. And those were some beautiful goals.

Australia, of course, a country infamous for shying away from sporting gamesmanship at every possible opportunity.

Well, not really much to say about the game except good riddance to bad rubbish, portugal. I was getting well sick of your pissing thieving cheating bullshit I hope you all break your legs in some kind of horrific mass accident. :)
Especially you, cristiano

Portugal today did that most horrible of things - diving when you have a chance to score if you stay up - and did it repeatedly. :nono:
They could never have won this cup without a better strikeforce, anyway.

As much as I will NEVER get tired of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo weep like a little girl who's pissed her knickers, I am left shaking my head in wonder at how it is Portugal copping the flak for diving when Thierry Henry has been more guilty of it than anyone else at this World Cup. His diving has won matches against Spain and now Portugal, with little to no condemnation from the media.

Thats interesting, especially thinking that that penalty was highly dubious and 3 minutes after another dubious penalty was not marked on our favor. if the referee was a consistent person, he should have marked that one for us also. But I don't see you complain about that, obviously...
About Portugal beying rubish, I honestly think that France didn't play shit in this game; Portugal dominated the whole game. Luckly for you, the referee "offered" you a free goal. A penalty by Zidane? Anyone can score a penalty, actually its more probable that a penalty is scored than the other way around. Apart from that I didn't see any Zidane...
You should refrain from offending people when you don't have any reason for that. French players are not the epitome of honesty either. Games are like that, and I congratulate the French team for the victory. We lost, and thats it. I accept it and you should show some more respect for other teams.

Judging by some of the scores this round, it seems a few of you have simply given up. Tsk! Shame, shame .. etc. Unless you're deliberately going for last place, in which case - well played.
Rather exciting up there at the top, with three teams firmly in the hunt for the trophy* and the chasing pack by no means out of it (though with the overall player pool dwindling, it's perhaps more difficult to make large gains at this point).
It's going RIGHT DOWN TO THE WIRE with the Final and the ever-exciting, ever-unpredictable Third Place Playoff match the only games remaining.
*I lied, there isn't a trophy
However, bonus prizes** will be awarded to anyone who can confirm that I heard Alan Shearer suggesting that no-one from the semi-finalists would make it into the England team.
Shurely shome mishtake?
**pfft, yeah right

True. Sad, but true. We had every chance to beat France, and we just lost it. Well, thats life.
On the strike force, I don't think it was bad. In this game they were not at their best, tahts for sure, but we dominated the field more than France ever did. And France had an excelent middle-field and defence. That penalty was unfortunate, especially because it was highly dubious. If it was a clear penalty I would have no complain. But marking that penalty and then ignore another one in our favor (highly dubious also) 3 minutes after doesn't show much congruency from the referee part. But football is like that, so congratz France!

I do have a reason: I don't like them. I don't like the way they play. As a whole, they have all the charisma of a pile of dogshit. Ronaldo has a mullet and Figo should know better.
