P.S. let´s hope the british yellow press will not start a hunt on the referee Elizondo...
Why would they? You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in England who disagreed with Rooney's dismissal, although I actually defy anyone on this Earth to tell me they wouldn't willingly stamp their studs firmly into Ricardo Carvalho's crotch if they didn't have the chance.

I'd still like to know why do you say Carvalho was odious Stronts. Was it because he made a nearly perfect match?
No, it's because he's a snidey little cuntrag.

Crouch was good tonight i thought, under difficult circumstances. The Lennon substitution baffled me (its proven that the young uns have less fear of penalties) and glad i'm not the only one who's come to despise C.Ronaldo. Lampard very poor indeed again, how bad does he have to be to get subbed?
All that and Rooney's meltdown and the good 10 man effort aside, and not wishing to labour the point, but just Gerrard and 2 others needed to convert for a semi-final spot. I know that Ricardo is a very good penalty stopper but England weren't even close..

It's because Carragher is (ordinarily) an outstanding penalty taker. I think his retaken kick today was the first time he's ever missed a penalty.

I dunno, these are the kind of people who boo Luis Figo when he's reading out an anti-racism message pre-game. We're not talking about paradigms of rationality here.
(regarding ref-bashing .. this thread is moving too faaaaaast)

Getting Figo to read an anti-racism message, you might as well get Lee Bowyer to read it. Figo clearly forgetting just how closely he associated with Real Madrid's neo-Nazi "Ultras" when he played there.

Sure, but under the circumstances my personal feeling is you're better off with a player who's experienced the match and warmed up sufficiently rather than one coming in cold just for a penalty.

Clearly, you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA of what you're talking about :nono: I suppose that, from that point of view, every Lazio player is probably a nazi.

Watching the Strontium Dog meltdown is almost as much fun as watching the Rooney one was.

Next I suppose he'll give us a perfectly logic excuse for the fact that the spanish supporters booed the french national anthem.

Hopefully pre-emptive "if you're going to throw crap at each other can you please do it in pm, for the sake of us all" request.
