Riquelme actually wasn't that great yesterday, he's way too slow at times but i do think Aimar should have replaced him.
Any predictions for tonights matches? Surely Gerrard, Rooney and both Coles have to step up tonight. I have a feeling England will somehow win this, though i like Portugal and don't underestimate them at all. It's 50/50 but if it goes to penalties Portugal will win.
France v Brazil i honestly have no idea what to expect. I'm gonna pick France but its just a gut feeling.

Surely if ever there was a time for crazy action it's now. Off with Lampard and maybe Cole/Neville, on with Crouch and Woolcott. 3 at the back, Gerrard and Hargreaves in the middle of midfield. Go nuts and get a goal.

Mark Lawrenson has surpassed any measure of cynical, one-sided, patronising commentary. I congratulate him.
For now, I expect penalties to come soon - hopefully with another appearence on the spot from Ricardo, The Bane Of England. :thumb:

For the way they have played with 10 men England deserve to win this, but it's penalties, so it looks like the World Cup dream is over for another 4 years.
Hargreaves outstanding. Crouch superb. Beckham injury a blessing. Shrek brainless. C.Ronaldo disgraceful. Carvalho odious.

Yeah, great, wasn't it? :cheeky:
I want to have Ricardo's babies.
Err, and hard luck and all that.
Myoldnamebroke on 1/7/2006 at 17:49
No, not really. It's never nice to see a team win who did absolutely nothing deserving of a victory.
It's easy to be gracious in defeat 1) if you deserved to lose and 2) if your opposition doesn't have Ronaldo playing for them.

Jesus.
During extra time I was wondering if we could invite Argentina back somehow?

What a rubbish way to go. It's bad enough that it was 0-0 after ET AND we put up a sterling effort with only 10 men but this...
And Ronaldo is the whiniest player in the tournament. At least we can be certain that some other team will do the Portugese the justice of ending this World Cup for them when they get 5 players booked for drama.
