However I hate that blueshite twat Cahill even more now for bringing his gay little shadow-boxing celebration on to the world stage.
I fail how to see that this was any worse than the horrible robotic dance of Crouch.

Kuffour should have been sent off for an aggression, because that's what that tackle was. And a player will get red carded for an aggression, regardless if the game was stopped at the moment or not.

Hahah, that poll is fucked. What dreamers pushed up England's hopes?
Awaits the obligatory and boring OLOLOL WHERES SCOTLAND? Note: I watch the World Cup for the appeal of highest-level international competition without any investment in one team unless I grow an affinity for their style throughout the tournament.

The keeper had already made the mistake before he was taken out - it was a possibly a foul, albeit a soft one, but if it had been given he'd have been lucky as the goal would have been scored anyway.
If by mistake you mean getting tripped up by one player and then shoulder-barged by another then yes, I agree. It was a foul. And I don't know how any of you can bitch about Cahill after watching the dive-fest that was the Japanese performance. It is a shame none of them were hospitalised. What a bunch of clowns.
At times, I really am blown away by how much of a sissy's game football can be. 'Yes you can make contact with other players but not (insert entirely subjective arbitrary amount of contact here) much.' There is no clearly drawn line. And of course, the old gem - 'No, it is too much of an ordeal to have video referees, despite the fact that it would make the game a
hell of a lot fairer.' The fact that people aren't being carded for obvious dives is absurd.
FIFA needs to be taken out the back and shot, execution style. They're a bunch of fucking criminals.

Crouch's celebration is endearing; Cahill's is embarassing.
Also Crouch knows when to stop. Cahill has had that same godawful celebration for two years now (at least).
Also, he plays for Everton - what more justification do you want or need??

Nah..it was Shwarzers fuckup, he decided to come for it, just cause the japs didn't get out the way for him doesn't automatically make it a foul. The aussies were just pissed at letting in a soft goal more than anything.
Amazing turnaround though.
re. Portugal v Angola, watching Figo give C.Ronaldo a lesson in how to be effective rather than showboat was great. (I'm not saying he ain't good but if he just dicked around with it less he'd be twice as good). Ricardo is a liability though i reckon and why isn't Nuno Gomez playing?

There's been a solitary Trinidad & Tobago flag flying for him all season at St Johnstone :D

I think Ronaldo needs to learn that there are ten more team mates on the pitch, whose role consists of more than simply passing him the ball and wait for him to do everything by himself. Figo on the other hand was a very pleasant surprise, especially when he assumed the usual role of Deco. Nuno Gomes isn't playing because he's simply unable to score. Which is kind of bad for a striker.

Getting your terrible excuses in early, even when you've won the game - Australia are better prepared for this tournament than I thought!
{edit} Ok, that's a bit bitchy and I want this thread to stay nice. I only watched a bit of Aus-Japan, but it seemed to me that as many would say some of the Japanese fell "quiet easily" as would say that Australia's rather "agricultural" style was reminiscent of a 1970's Leeds side at times. Which isn't necessarily wrong, but it will give away a fair few free kicks.
Anyone concerned about diving should probably try running at full speed whilst attempting to keep close control over a football and then get their mate to nudge them slightly - see what happens to you. Yeah, sometimes players over-egg it and roll around far too many times, but that doesn't automatically mean it hasn't originally been a foul. {/edit}
