So I'm playing in a post punk/pop band now. - by Aja

It's called Latcho Drom, and I didn't start it, but I did play all the guitar in the right channel of the album I'm about to link to. For those interested I recommend listening to "Shit District" and "Chronographer" and "Slide" first.

Not bad. Not bad at all.
If I have to pick a nit (AND I DO), it's that I'm not seeing the post in your punk. Sounds like good 90's Punk to me, played by people who know what they're doing.

I'll take that! I think we started calling ourselves post-punk because we felt like some of the songs we've been playing are too weird to be just punk, but I admit I that may be a flimsy definition.

Those are some blistering solos and thundering drums. Also the fretboard wank in Shit District made me giggle. Your vocalist sounds just the right amount of assured and cocky and spiders skittering around in the head; with a bit more range and practice he should be able to hit those harder notes in Slide and the opening of Chronographer. Pretty good for a debut, all in all. :thumb:

I'm going to go in the opposite direction of Renz and say that when I was your age and we wanted to be Joy Division or other dark post-punk bands, we just called it goth.
Because I don't do reviews of music made by people I know, I'll just say that stuff is pretty good. [insert some sort of encouraging shit here]

Thanks! It's not a debut; the band's been around for a few years, but it's the first one I've played on. Shit District's a blast to play, and in Edmonton, at least, (

Goth, punk, emo, hardcore. We've got a song called Horsefucker that's pretty country, too.
