So I made an album... - by Para?noid

Wouldn't it be cool if you had a way of playing music that would gradually (very gradually, I mean) lower in volume over a time period that was likely to get you to fall asleep? That'd be cool.
I could never do it, because I share a bed and don't have trouble sleeping anymore as I'm always freaking exhausted but I can always hark back to the insomniac days.
Using a dataflow program like MAX or MSP this could be done easily. We could hook your brain up to the computer which would parse the relevant incoming data into a variable that would control the overall volume of a track; sounds a bit messy - otherwise it would be simple to write a program that exponentially faded out the music over a user-specified time period. Hell, you could do it in a wave editor every night if you were so inclined.

Noid, let me know when you plan to send this - I move out of my current digs in November to my first home and wouldn't want to lose this to the postal gremlins! \:D/

Thank you, Paz.
Mr 'noid... You are on the way. I wait to see your name on the wall at my local Tower. Someone needs to keep this thread alive until I have money again, so I can give some to you for a my very own copy. You do kick musical ass, sir.

I didn't download it when I had the chance and now the site is down (and 'noid is mysteriously absent):(
On the bright side, Ambient 4: On Land arrived today, and it's beautiful.

If you're serious, noid - listen up because I was actually in a serious rut by the end of last week, I'd been massively stressed, fatigued and generally fucking fed up. I'd been burning the candle at all ends and just had nothing left, was running on fumes so to speak. I got a doc ordered 2 days rest on Monday and took it willingly, the first day was wiped out because I was genuinely ill with strep throat but I got a great night's sleep that night (12 hrs!) and on the second day I got outside, got a bit of sun, walked for a few hours and just soaked up life for a bit. Seriously, exercise, fresh air, sleep - avoid stimulants and so on as much as possible for a couple of days. It's amazing the change it makes.
I feel more than 100% better.
