So I made an album... - by Para?noid

I mean the thing is with that track that 6 or 7 minutes just isn't MONOLITHIC enough. I don't sit there with a stopwatch, mind. I kept doing shorter versions with it and I always got pissed off when it ended as I listened back to it

Noid , just keep doing what you do. Mozart was once told that a piece of his music "has too many notes". Music is like that. When it's done, it's done and that might be 20 minutes (or longer) from when it started, or it might be 30 seconds.
Marty Robbins was told his song would never sell. It was too long. At that time most such were about 1:45 in length. His went over 2 minutes. The song?
El Paso one of his all time hits.
Listen to your muse and not us critics. :thumb:
PS: you should post your stuff on.

Hm, that oroborus looks (
http://www.studiocypher.com/) familiar. Anyway, I would love a CD, if you haven't been overwhelmed with requests yet.
Not that anyone cares but...
.<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/8066/oroborosvs2.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /></a>
... it was taken from this, I believe.
Theodoros Pelecanos made it. The piece was an alchemic report.
Yes, but I check my sources to. The oroborus can symbolize a lot of things, particularly the cyclical patten of nature, karma, and life/death/rebirth.
Jormundgandr from Norse Mythology easily fits into the archetype of the oroborus serpent. As the myth goes (I think), Jormundgandr's body encircles the planet, the creature's hold on its tail keeping in a state of hibernation. Whenever it moves in its sleep, the planet shakes. In the Gotterdammerung, Thor and Jormundgandr lock in a fierce final battle, with both dying as result.
The Oroborus is also considered a very powerful magical symbol, for the reasons I mentioned before and it's thought to symbolize the embodied power of the universe.
Some people may recognize it from the
Millenium TV series, were a shadow organization of the same name used it as their logo.
Pardon me for the rant. Mythology is a fond hobby of mine.
EDIT: Listening to track four right now. Very calming. Great stuff.

This music begs to be paired up with surreal imagery, I like it.

I must've missed this the first time around.
Noid, I know exactly what you mean when you say you want music to drift off to sleep with. I thought Music for Airports might fit the bill, but it's damned annoying through headphones. Everything else I've tried is too jumpy and I get woken up when the music gets loud.
Actually, Tosca's 'Suzuki' is nearly perfect, but not ambient enough.
Anyway, I'd love a copy if there are any left.

Wouldn't it be cool if you had a way of playing music that would gradually (very gradually, I mean) lower in volume over a time period that was likely to get you to fall asleep? That'd be cool.
I could never do it, because I share a bed and don't have trouble sleeping anymore as I'm always freaking exhausted but I can always hark back to the insomniac days.

My problem is that it's the low end which really lulls me to sleep, so unless I turn the speakers up to levels that are usually too loud to sleep to, I have to use headphones, and it's very difficult for me to sleep with them on.

Got mine safely yesterday too, cheers Noid.
