Didn't grab me the first time. Then I listened again and pretended I wasn't listening, that I was reading a book on a tram instead. Then I thought fuck! I could so have this on while reading a book on a tram.
I'm sure we can figure out ... paypal? waht? Wouldn't want to put you out over postage to another hemisphere. I'd cherish this shit.

Beautiful work old son. Keep it up.

I would be willing to pay for postage, but if noid would rather tell Canada Post to fuck off, then I can live with the mp3s.

Just to say, glad I've put in an order for a physical CD, I had this on in the background while I was working yesterday and it was the perfect accompaniment/distraction to my busywork.

Going to download this and sample it when I return to Mty. But knowing Noid, I'm sure it'll be something worth to sample :).

Been listening to the album for two days now before going to sleep. Good stuff, Noid :thumb:.
BTW, anyone care to re-upload the Barrow Wight LP somewhere? I once had it, but I seem to have lost the files, and the original link is long dead now...

I'm listening at work and I'm being lulled into a trance. So for me it's not so good for productivity...
I'm usually too impatient for this sort of thing, but after a while one's mind shifts gears, like mine just did a few minutes ago. I'd say it was a good accompaniment to meditation, or can even get you into the right mental state for it. I do tend to imagine melodies over the top of the music though, so I don't necessarily experience it "as it is". Or perhaps that is just the way I respond to it.

Henke, Trev, Stitch: The thing is, this isn't meant to be the kind of music that you sit down and listen to; at least, that's not my goal. dvrabel put it nicely when he said that it's the perfect complement to something like programming; the music, as I said earlier, just kind of hangs around in it's own sound world- unobtrusive, but still very much there.
Oh for sure I understand what you're aiming for and I appreciate this kind of music, in fact I wish autechre would do more stuff like (
http://www.kirton.org/andy/pcer.mp3) this (broadcast before their 7 and a 1/2 hour webcast marathon last year) which is one of the best things to listen to when you're fallling asleep, but it also works as total head music. I like it when music like this can get me to forget about time/space whatever for its entire duration existing as you say in its own sound world.
The problem I had with the 2nd track is that there isn't enough going on to keep me there for that length of time, there is a point when you just do start to crave a change, however subtle, whereas the other tracks kept me for their entire lengths. I listened to it walking to work so the sounds of cars and the rain and the kids coming out of school etc. was mingled in there, but with the 2nd track there did come a point where it was just enough already, it had run its course. If 'Blue Calx' ran for twice its length I think I'd get slightly bored even though its one of the finest things I've ever heard. There is something to be said for keeping the length of things like this just short enough to make sure it finishes before people start to think about how long its been going, especially when there are few 'layers' to the track/little variation going on. This was probably why I enjoyed the other tracks more, there was plenty of subtle stuff happening to keep me distracted.
That said this is my probably just down to my own preference as very few others seem to have a problem, I might be focusing too much on the track itself and having the world noise in the background whereas it should be the other way around, maybe its just the way I'm wired etc. etc. If you get anything out of this post make sure it's the autechre track tho it's killer.
