Queue - I too am sorry that you're an asshole. At least you're not a retentive asshole, but rather a large, gaping one which means you've seen a lot of dicks and are great at recognizing them. Which you've aptly demonstrated here.

BrudurMurus - I am unequivocally ambivalent about any and all religions, because I've reached the long fought-for conclusion that they are all nonsense. I studied Christianity, Judism, and Islam for nearly 20 years. I've taught the theology of all three religions - understand what I'm saying. I used to teach teachers about these religions and the cultures in which they exist. You're not going to tell me anything here that I couldn't tell you more about. I've forgotten more about Islam than you'll probably ever learn in your lifetime. And no, I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you to verify or prove that. I'm just stating it so you know my frame of mind.

Which also means I'm not going to address your comments directly because they are a product of the nonsense with which you've been indoctrinated. And the same is true of anyone who believes said nonsense. See, I know this because I was once indoctrinated just like you, and I thought I knew what was going on in the world. In retrospect, I didn't know jack.

As a bonus, I'll say that I'm more content now than I've ever been in my life. I believe in randomness, chaos, cause and effect, and not a small amount of quantum. This is the only way to make sense of a nonsensical universe. Maybe I'm wrong again, just like before. But I do know that I will never go back to the way I used to think because religion as a whole is an abject failure. The worst part is that the dogma it presents is abusive - and the fact that you feel compelled to burden me with it, at a time when you assume I'm vulnerable, scared, and desperate, is a tell-tale sign that you have taken that abuse, and have every intention of inflicting it on anyone you can. But that won't work on me, because I've broken the cycle of abuse - I refuse to be a victim anymore. And because of that, I'm at peace, and I'm able to read the nonsense you've spewed out of your keyboard and chuckle, remembering a time when I too had such a small mind and narrow worldview, and the arrogance to assume that conforming others to my doctrine would solve their problems.

I have no sins to be forgiven of, because there's no such thing as sin. I do good things, I do bad things, and the consequences are meted out according to randomness, and sometimes cause and effect. That is my reward and punishment. None awaits me beyond this life and for that I'm grateful. It's something you might want to consider - while you spend your time worried about a fictional reward or punishment once you check out of here, I'm enjoying life. Trapped in a hospital room, fighting for my life, I'm actually more alive than you. Because I can appreciate life and the universe for what it really is, instead of constantly searching for some reason or entity behind it. I doubt you've ever done that, but I wish you could because the air is cleaner, food tastes better, music is more beautiful, and friendships are more meaningful. It's a joy for me to be alive and I wouldn't dream of bogging that joy down with ridiculous notions like sin, salvation, redemption, torment, and other dogma. Life for me is pure, vibrant, and a constant awe-inspiring wonder that you'll never know so long as you try to see it through the lens of Allah - or any other megalomaniac, illusory deity.

So post away - keep bearing down and type more nonsense. It will make you feel better when you hit the reply button, but I know that in your idle moments, you also wonder if it's really all true, or you'll be frustrated because your attempt to convince someone else it's true failed miserably. You needed that win to help you convince yourself that you're not basing your life on a fiction. I know, because I've been there. I feel more empathy for you than anything, and wish for you to come to your senses, throw it all aside, and just enjoy life.

Many thanks for your post fett, you have put into words my thoughts on all religion.

We are fortunate in the UK, traditional religion is on the decline. Schools no longer hold daily prayers at morning assembly, Churches are closing due to lack of congregations. The control of "Christian" religion has gone. Ironically it was helped on it's way by other religions moving in and claiming christian monopoly was unfair.

I'll keep your post and when frustrated by some zealot will sprinkle it liberally.
