Not dumbed down enough. No, I'm actually serious. What is the point of putting an Uplink-class minigame into the game?
Hacking is just a way of doing x. It's about the x, not the hacking.
Judging by the size of some networks they've shown, I can see this quickly becoming tiresome and a chore by the mid-game. Well unless there's like, two hackable items per level on average. But then you've got it all wrong anyway.
On a side note, why does everyone insist on putting the player "inside the computer" when hacking? Is this supposed to be cool or something? Being a cyber jockey, dodging the Red Rays of Security left and right, turning them nodes blue? Because I'm pretty sure even a 486 would beat you in turning nodes colors. It does 40 million things a second, which is kind of faster than you clicking stuff.

I don't know why they do this either. why the distraction, just like an aug that highlights a computer so you know you can "use" him this is unnecessary. I get a hacking device, it takes some time to do its job, in the meantime I am physically exposed and can watch my surroundings which heightens the tension of getting it done intime. I agree that it is more envolving than a pipe game but still.

Haha, that looks awesome :D

wholly unrealistic, but actually looks quite fun.
One thing I wish games would do in hacking is look at all the hack ports more hollistically. Usually a keypad or a computer is an isolated case that doesn't have any effect on anything else. Would be neat if they were connected somehow (so maybe you need to hack into multiple terminals in a proper sequence to unlock access to somewhere, or use one terminal to hack another terminal before you can even use that to hack something else). SS1 kinda did that with all terminals being just different doorways to the same cyberspace.

(
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/05/11/ten-things-you%E2%80%99ll-think-playing-deus-ex-3/#more-59083) Rock Paper Shotgun have done another writeup on Deus Ex 3. They're saying mostly good things, so I'd say it's a safe bet that they're being paid by Eidos to praise their shit console port.
When they say that there's alot of exploration, and 2 or 3 entrances into every building, they really mean the game is one long corridor consisting of quick time events for retards who breathe out of their mouths (even though we all do that on occasion). Also it's orange. I hate orange. Orange is the stupidest color.

We'll never know if they all get paid, since the whole thing is by... uh, Quintin. Is that a real name?

Quintin was the name of the main character from that old Sliders TV show that aired back in the early-mid 90's. So...it's probably fake.
