THe biggest requirement is stamina. The exciting feeling you have now will not be there in 6 months when you're still stuck making the same level. It turns into sheer hard work and a timesink, and that's where the stanina and willpower have to kick in.
THe vast majority of FMs never see the light of day.
Normally I would agree with you but for this first set of fm's that will be coming up for T3, I would think the incentive of winning a brand new car would help. Komag's Grand Prize of a new 2005 Toyota Prius and 50 1st place prizes of new Alienware Computers with dual 6800 Ultras is just amazing. I couldn't believe it when I read about the prizes being offered on his website for his first contest. Very generous. I wonder if we can pick which color computer we win? Apple green would be cool.

In the end, you can easily convert the floorplan to a map. :thumb:
The other nice thing about having a floorplan is that if you want to change something, or something doesn't work right, it's *so* much easier to do damage control when you have a working floorplan than when you have to do it on the fly.
Wow, Komag certainly has moved up from giving away prize DVDs (which were free anyway). Next time he should simply give away his house ... or his SOUL. :sly:

That is a fantastic suggestion. I'm doing the same thing, only I'm using one of the original maps that shipped with the game. See, I'm simply changing all the textures... to different textures! It sounds hard I know, but after awhile it gets easier. Then I'm taking out all of the guards, and putting them in different places! It's awesome, the power to be able to do things like that. If I have time I may add a room or two, I'll just have to see. Hopefully it will be done in time for Komag's fm competition. I'll win for sure.
:cheeky:
Stop. You're killing me. Please.
Just.
Stop.

Nah. Don't want his soul. Don't have a carrying case for it. :p
Hey, Komag. Where do you live? :sly:

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that maps the level out on graph paper before even opening Dromed. :ebil:
I'll do the same thing if I ever take up T3Ed.

So how long does it usually take you guys to complete a FM?
For an idiot like me, it'll take forever. :nono:

Is there any other way to do it? You can so easily ruin your mission in the first week without a plan. I learned that lesson from my first mission.
