These options that exist, do they actually affect anything so far? Like, when the first missions is getting ready, and you're told "Hey it's time to go save these people are the warehouse", I wasn't done exploring around Sarif Industries, so I took my sweet time, and Sarif very unkindly informed me that while I was fucking off, they killed most of the hostages. Does that happen regardless, or did it only happen because I didn't go immediately?
It only happens if you don't go immediately (or maybe you do have some time to explore). That probablly happened the first time i played it since the hostages were dead when I got there, the second time I was able to save the hostages.Quote:
In similar fashion, when it came to Zeke, I talked him out of killing/taking the hostage, and instead sent him after the people who set him up. Is there any indication that that comes back to benefit me later?
Yes, you will recive a call from him to meet him and he'll give you some info. Same is with that plant manager Josie and her husband, if you save them both, they will call you and you'll get a small reward.

...the soundtrack is rather dull for example
I actually liked the soundtrack. Sure, it's mostly background filler, but it's good background filler. It does a great job of sounding nice, and builds atmosphere without getting in the way of everything.
Really, it sounds like what'd you hear in original Deus Ex, but with more gravitas...and Tron Legacy.

It sounds nothing like DX for the most part. And thank goodness for that.

Why? I think those Alex Brandon tracks were mostly great. I still listen to them occasionally.

The music in DX was mostly crap imo. I usually just muted it and played some unintrusive ambient in the background instead. And that's what's great about the HR music - it's unintrusive ambient that blends great with the game's atmosphere. And the silly DX tunes are still played on the silly in-game radio for those who actually liked them. Win-win.

You're crazy, the first time I launched the game I spent a minute or so just sitting in the main menu listening to the music. It is that good.

Oh God, You're making me agree with Koki here. It's scary, horrible, and feels as wrong as I imagined it would.
Nah, just kiddding, Koki. Well, you're still an asshole, but...you know...sometimes you're halfway right.
But anyway, yeah, get out. I don't think I could give the it a listen outside of the game, like Melan does, but the music was largely responsible for making DX as atmospheric as it was. It sounds gritty as hell, lo-fi, and awesome all around. If I had to pick one soundtrack that best represented the game it was in, it would be Deus Ex.

I get a more - mass effectish vibe from dx:hr. and it is "partly" intrusive. battle music for example which I don't like in TW2 either.
