Not going to spoil anything, just saying - it's not slow at all on my PC (3 years old), the first 5 minutes were awesome, after which I was brutally killed by the very first enemy in the game. It's properly difficult.
Now that's good news. I was afraid the hardware requirements would kill it for me even after my recent upgrades, but if a 3 years old config can handle it, so can mine.

God that pop in and out of third person is horrible. It's like some 'teleport me to my disembodied eyeballs' button.
In the second vid of the first mission he has to get a box to climb into an air vent that's at head height *tsk*
Anyway, any one of you bootleggers had a go playing it pure first person and want to tell us how it goes with cover and visibility etc?

I'm playing it on "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty (the hardest one) and I think it's quite impossible to play the game without the third person cover system. It's just way too tough the other way. The AI are unforgiving - they kill you the moment they see you, and health regenerates slowly. If you're peeking around corners in first person, you're dead soon.
And while I don't like the way it's implemented on a technical level, I think that third person cover system doesn't really break immersion (I can't believe I say this since I hated this idea from day one). It's a cheat indeed, but, again, I don't think it's possible to play the game without using it.

From what I've seen on the video, the system is just confusing because you're constantly switching between TPP and FPP. It's not like, say, Metal Gear Solid where you're in TPP 90% of the time and just need to pop into FPP occassionally to look around or fire; it seems to be equally divided between one and the other.
I'll see how it is when you play it yourself... when I play it myself.

You're gonna hate it, Koki. Save yourself $50.
