Well it's actually pretty useful in this. It's used to move things and open up new pathways, not just moving a big crate to get a weapon mod like in DE1. I would say it's almost mandatory for a stealth character.

At first I was like... HOLY SHIT THAT IS AWESOME
Then I was like... Look at all that 10XP Man Downs which could be 50XP...
Finally I was like... destroying the bot is fine though. SO doing this when I play the full game.

That's from SEGA Rally :) Anyway, the game looks good, much better than what I expected. Still not convinced about the usefulness of switching to third person, though.

I gotta admit that I was doubtful at first of DX:HR but after playing this beta, I'm really happy and find myself thinking "Yes, this is my kind of game!"

Like:
-Inventory, exploration, hacking
-Shooting and weapons
-I actually really like to do the takedowns, and for some reason I felt some real satisfaction doing a KO takedown on that mullet-haircut cop in the police station lobby (after finishing the quest)
-Graphics, style
-Music
-Cover works fine, I like to just shoot blindly sometimes
-Lots of little quests and stuff to explore (more than original Deus Ex perhaps?)

Should be improved
-Load times/hitching (this will probably be fixed in the final retail.. I mean, isn't 6 GB of RAM enough for this guys?)
-Mouselook is wacky (also probably fixed in retail)
-Inventory is a little laggy (fixed at retail?)

At any rate, I'm definitely buying this. Loving every minute of it.

Wow, I'm really surprised how positive everyone is being about this game so far. I might just have to go for the pre-order (something I almost never do).

Just out of curiosity, is anyone pre-ordering through GameStop? I'm tempted, considering they have the bonus mission with "cameo appearance of a character from the original series." Don't know if it's worth it, though. Normally I'd just go through Steam.

I'm surprised too. I guess the leak of this demo turned out to be the best marketing they could have asked for. I'm still really disappointed by the lack of melee combat though.
